Hey guys, I've been running into a lot of problems on my 2014 Scrambler 1000 lately. It seems like every time I start to fix something I find about 3 more things that need to be changed.
My quad has a little under 3300 miles and 149 hours and I basically ride it to it's limits every time I ride. With that said, I change all fluids every 25 hours and grease what I can every 2 or 3 rides. I wash and inspect it after every ride and it has never spent a day outside. basically, I ride my machine hard but I also maintain it to a higher standard than what the book calls for.
Below is a list of what I've come across while doing maintenance. What parts have you changed so far? And do you think it seems "excessive"?
Bushings @ 1100 miles
Front Prop Shaft @ 1800 miles
Wheel Bearings @ 2100 miles
Upper & Lower Ball Joints @ 2100 miles
Both Front Knuckles @ 2100 miles
Steering Stem Bushing @ 3200 miles
Pinion Cover Seal @ 3200 miles
Tie Rods @ 3200 miles
Bushing Sleeves @ 3200 miles
Pinion Gear @ 3200 miles
Both diffs have play where axle stubs enter
Rear diff has input shaft play
Personally, I wish it would have held up better. But for my size and the way I ride, I guess it's actually held up pretty well.
