Although the Yamaha Banshee was best known for its performance in the dunes, that hasn’t stopped folks from outfitting the twin cylinder two stroke for motocross. New Member – Question on Outlander 400 problem with gear engagement

Hello - new member here - found this forum searching for information about a problem with my 2004 Outlander 400 Max - would appreciate any help you might be able to offer.

Here is the problem: when I shift into reverse or high, the quad shifts easily into the correct gear location, but behaves as if it is still in neutral. Rocking back and forth does not help. After revving the throttle gentle, it will eventually engage most of the time, but I'm concerned this will eventually not work.

Here is a recent issue that I think is related to the problem. I drove the ATV and heard a grinding sound coming from the clutch/drive belt compartment. I removed the cover and the intake/exhaust hoses and found the exhaust port completely plugged with acorns and nesting material (chipmunks!) - the grinding sounds was acorns bouncing around in the case. I cleaned the compartment and reassembled. The problem I am having with entering gear coincides with this issue.

I am assuming that I may have overheated the belt and/or created a clutch issue, but I hope to hear what you all think. Thank you! Cheers!

Vehicle fires are never a good thing, but losing both your “home away from home” and your toys at one time is especially painful. Even more so because most of the time, fires like this could have been prevented. Hopefully these folks had good insurance! A post shared by Dirt Alliance (@dirt_alliance) on Nov 7, 2017 at […] more

1995 Trail Boss Cranking issues

I rebuilt my carb on my 1995 Trail Boss. Fired right up and rode for about 30 minutes or so till it started bogging down like it was flooding. Now it will not crank at all with everything hooked up. I replaced plug as well. Weird thing is the quad will fire right up with the slide and needle pulled out. Please help!

1995 Trail Boss Carb issues

What's up guys! Decided to get the ole Trail Boss 250 back up and running. I will try to make a extremely long and frustrating story short.... I rebuilt carb with all new jets. Hooked everything back up. Ran great for about 30 minutes or so. Then it's starts bogging down as I give it throttle till finally goes dead. I've pulled carb off a few more times and cleaned again. With everything hooked up I can't get bike to crank at all. I've also replaced plugs. What's weird is if I pull the slide and needle out of the top it fires right up?? I'm assuming it's an air issue since I've got spark and fuel? Please help!

in need of a full set of axles

hey guys,

i was changing a torn cv boot today and i noticed that my cv internals arent in great shape. im looking for an aftermarket solution thats able to withstand a small lift with 30 inch silverbacks. i dont really want to spend what rhinos or gorillas are worth, so im wondering if someone has had luck with a less expensive set. i found a set on summit racing for around 500 bucks, but i cant seem to find any reviews, any input on those would be awesome too !

Good and the bad

My wife wants to make a deal on a blue ( not sure about the blue in the pic, hopefully like the color better in real life) 2017 570 and I would like to know the good and bad about these. The most important thing is, are they reliable, any major maintenance issues? I had a 850xp and loved it, had a few minor issues but nothing major. The suspension I think is identical to my 2013 850 so I already know that the ride will be incredible! She was interested in a 500 Arctic Cat but I am steering her in the Polaris direction....just want to make sure it is the right direction, lol! BTW, anyone try both of these machines and compare them?
Thanks for the help and any input :grin
