Well, been hearing a lot of people chat about NOT liking there engine brake. Would like to here if there are any out there who have removed there's and what they thought about it.
1) Did you like it out
2) Did you leave it out
3) Was it that bad on brakes
4)Was it better or worse for technical riding
5)Was it better at slow speeds without that terrible drag on decal..

I think this would be a good helpful topic for many...

I have a 2004 Ranger that is acting strange. When driving the engine quits suddenly. No sputtering, just quits. If its rolling I only have to turn the key off then on and it restarts. If stopped, I turn the key and engage the starter motor and it starts again. I've replaced the fuel pump and it didn't help. I've checked the wires to the key switch. Any ideas? I'm not sure if this is the place for this post....

Hey, The lady my wife works for has a 2001 Polaris sportsman 400 that needs a new wheel bearing. I've never worked on one of these so was wondering if anybody knew any what this may entail. Is it just tire off, caliper off, axle nut, and hub? Any hidden gremlins that will give me a headache? Ive had the unfortunate privilege of working on cars since I was 16 but this is my first time working on an atv. Thanks for your help.

So looking at a 08 525 irs, all forward gears work, but wont go in reverse, guy says could be cable, but lets be honest thats usually not the case.

anyways, what else other that the cable could cause the 525 to not go into reverse?

whats the worst case scenario, splitting cases and replacing drum or shift fork, any chance it could be something as easy as removing a cover and replacing something?

I am looking for some suggestions,i go to maine every year bear hunting but never get to just ride.i am taking the family to maine to see where I have been hunting for the last 16 years and we are bring atvs with us.anybody suggest a good place to ride that is family friendly.thanks for any info

Hello everyone!

First time on the Polaris atv forum. I wanted to inquire from fellow owners on a solution to a ongoing problem I'm having with my 2007 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO that has stumped me.

A few weeks ago out of nowhere my atv started idling funny. So I checked the tachometer and it showed it fluctuating from 1290 RPMs down to 900 and back. If I pressed the throttle however it had zero issues and ran perfect at full power. However as soon as I let off the throttle and go back to idle it begins running rough and even occasionally stalling.

Now I've done a fair amount of research on the issue, so I did the logical thing and started troubleshooting possible problems. Here's a list of what I've ruled out so far:

- Replaced IAC harness with new ModQuad harness (old harness and wires were chewed up)

-Raplaced IAC sensor with new one

- Replaced Fuel filter

- New UNI air filter

-Cleaned T-MAP sensor

-Checked fuel pump (working)

- Checked spacing on throttle (in spec)

-New Iridium plug

As of now I've replaced everything I could think of that might be the culprit and yet I'm still having idling issues. I noticed that when it starts up the first few minutes it runs perfect no idling issues whatsoever. However after the bikes fully warmed up and running for awhile it starts stuttering and the idle goes back to being erratic. What else could be contributing to this issue? I'm out of ideas unless the t-map sensor is bad? I open to any suggestions!

I have a 2017 Outlander 1000xtp. I am having an issue where I have to rock the machine back and forth to get it into park. This is a pain when in the back of pickup. If the atv is running and you go from park to reverse the machine jerks/moves slightly. The same thing happens when you go from Neutral to drive.Machine has around 300 miles maybe less.

My prior machine was a 2016 renegade 1000r and it never had this issue.

The machine is currently getting its first service done and they said that they did not notice an issue. How can the machine jerking when you put it into gear not be an issue. This happens at any engine temp when at idle. Not sure if the service fixed it since I will not be picking it up until Saturday.

Is there something I should have them check?? I know its not normal because my renegade didn't do it and it was the same motor and trans.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
