I got a raw deal yesterday. Bought a used 2003 Sportsman 400 that looked to be in great shape. Starts right up, looks good, everything works. It had the transmission whine I'd heard about but the seller said it's always done it and i've read that it's "normal" and that it could be driven for years with that sound. Well, I went to check the transmission oil just for grins, and couldn't find the dipstick. Finally found where it was supposed to be according to a Clymer manual seller had. Low and behold, after scratching around with a screwdriver found a hole where it was supposed to be. So now the obvious question is, can I add oil, run it a little with no load, (tires off the ground) and drain it (do this procedure a couple times) to flush it out or do I have to remove the tranny, open it up and give it a good bath? I'm afraid I know the answer....

I have a 2005 sportsman 500 HO that has 26x8x12 on the front and 26x11x12 on the rear.

I have a potential deal a new set of 26x8x12 front and 26x10x12 on the rear. Am i going to have issues with changing the rear size? Does anyone know?

What do you all consider to be the best battery chargers or maintainers for atvs. I had a Shumacher 10 amp that boiled an ag battery last winter it was an automatic type but was probably 25 yrs old so I keep an eye on when I have to use now. Also what size do you need for a atv.

Hello, I installed a winch on my 1000 my question is has anyone found anything or modified the plastic cover that is removed when installing the winch to fill in the the area around the front of the winch to clean it up some ?
