86 trail boss 250

Ok I'm lost. I've done a complete top end rebuild and new crankshaft seals. Also new carburetor. I've played with the main jet and needle until I'm now lost. With spec main jet and needle placement. Bike runs great until you put a filter on carb. Then it will idle great mid range good then full throttle bogg down. So I've went significantly lower on main jet to where now it idles fine high end good mid range no good. If anyone has an answer it would be awesome.

Using Polaris pull starter

I have a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 300 and a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500H.O. both with a pull starter. I was wondering if there is a way for compression relief to make pulling it easier. Thanks for the replies

’95 400l burning coolant. NEED HELP!

Hey all, I'm at my wits end. Bought this Sportsman last September having never owned an ATV. Took it out riding for the first time and noticed it was blowin white smoke that smelled like coolant. Figured, no big deal, more than likely a head gasket. Tore it down, replaced it, no change. So it must be a cracked cylinder, not cool. Bit the bullet and bought a bored and sleeved cylinder, new piston, and to top it off (pun intended) a head that's supposedly never used and pulled off a new engine years ago. The head does look new and unused. After a Saturday of getting to know my engine more than I wanted to already, got her fired back up and after I'm up to, what I'm assuming, operating temp., WHITE SMOKE SMELLING LIKE COOLANT!!! Talked to some people and I was told that possibly the fan isn't working and I could have blown the head gasket due to overheating. I honestly never noticed if it was kicking on or not, but I jumped it and it's working so I just wired it to run "key on" so it's always running. Tore the head off to check the gasket, it looked ok. Put some copper spray-a-gasket on it and reused it. Put it back together, and STILL NO CHANGE!! How can this be? The top end is "new" and torqued to spec. from the Haynes manual. I'm at a complete loss here, plz help!
