I trade my lovely Grizzly 700 for BRP xmr 650. I hope my next 15000 km will be just as exciting

Ball joint removal tricks?

So, recently I bent my frame and a control arm. I fixed the frame and got a set of arched a-arms for my g1 outlander. I figured while I was taking it apart I would put aftermarket ball joints and tie rods in. The left side came apart easily, the other side is not cooperating at all. Both ball joints are stuck in the knuckle. Does anyone have a trick to remove the upper and lower ball joints on a g1 outlander? I heated it and used some sea foam, but no dice. I think I will need to be more persuasive.

04 700efi gas tank vent

Has anyone come up with a idea to replace the little plastic gas tank vent by the gas cap I broke the 90 off of mine and was trying to think of a replacement for it instead of having to order one. I first thought of a grease fitting with the small threads just take the insides out. I was just wondering if anyone else had come up something better.

1995 Sportsman 400 Transmission question

Hello everyone. New here. I picked up an old Sportsman 2stroje in a trade and i’m trying to get it running.

Couldn’t get it to go into low gear, so i decided to just go ahead and pull the transmission out and open it up.

When i pulled it out from the frame, i could hear some metal clanging around. Once i opened it all i could find was a little piece of metal that looks like a tab of some sort. I’ve looked at the parts diagram and didn’t see anything that resembled my broken piece. Also, nothing inside of the transmission looks like it’s broken.

All gears look good(minimal wearing on the corner where the dog gear(?) engages. Shift forks look good.

Just wondering if anyone might know what this broken piece is? Oh yeah, this is my first time to ever open a transmission so i am a rookie when it comes to this stuff
