Proper way to disconnect battery neg first neg last
I was told by someone with mechanical ability.
Being that these motorcycles ATV's side by sides have sensitive brains , ECM's etc...
The safest was to disconnect a battery is to disconnect the negative first and when connecting the battery to hook up the negative last.
Please let's hear your ideas.

Polaris Pulse 6 Busbar
Hi,
Has anyone had any experience with the Polaris Roof 6 Busbar accessory? I installed mine and I was expecting the same operation as the one under the hood (from the factory). Much to my disappointment, all I'm getting is switched +12V, no constant power. Considering it has hookups for ACC, GND, and +12V I'm hoping I'm missing something....
Can anyone share their results?
Thanks,
Bill

Should come with more
You would think spending 15k that these machines would come with better skid plates, or at least some sort of protection

Outlander Caught Fire
Hey folks.
Wondering if anyone else may have had a fire issue with there outlander max 800?
Took atv out, tried to install my plow. Looked at my neighbor behind my house and his truck was hanging over a hill.
Being a good guy I tried to help out, so i flew around the block and figured I could maybe try to use the atv to help him pull tire back over hill.
So I plowed a path behind his truck. Backed up and smelled smoke. Looked down and seen flames shooting out by my Knee. Luckily I had the back seat off, pulled seat off tossed snow in there and then neighbor grabbed extinguisher and put out. So I pulled side plastic to investigate. I guess critters built a nest on the exhaust pipe on the air intake on the heat shield.
So If your ATV sits for a few months outside check for nest.
Also carry a fire extinguisher.
Still runs fine. Was worried about wiring harness but only only got the outer plastic melted. Just going to tape heck out of it. New parts ordered.

2003 sportsman 500ho overheating
Went out for a ride today and my quad overheated. no coolant leaking and outside temperature was around freezing. My gauge started flashing the temperature picture, I stopped the quad, turned it off and you could hear the coolant bubbling hot. I let it cool down, started down the trail for about 15 min and again gauge started flashing so i turned it off waited for it to cool down, this time I was able to make it to my truck. Once home I checked my coolant level in the rad and i could see coolant up the neck but none in the expansion tank. Looked around the water pump and no coolant leaking , my fan had been working all day but when the bike overheated the fan was not on, could that be the issue? It was a cold day, would it still need the fan? How do I check the water pump? Could that be my issue? Could it be the thermostat?
Thanks

ATV going through batteries,not charging
I have a 1995 Polaris 300 4x4. Seems to go through batteries. I know it needs a battery now, but want to know why it's not charging all the ones I've had before going through another. I've seen posts about the rectifier, but it appears mine doesn't use one according to parts diagrams. I usually use it just to plow so it doesnt get used a lot. Tried battery tender this year to see if that helped. Anyway any help would be appreciated.
