Add a Neutral safety switch for a 2001 sportsman 500?

I am finding myself frequently starting the engine in gear. The I dont think its in gear and rev it up and it rolls forward.

I was thinking something out to be easy to figure out, maybe using a relay off the gear indicator light?

Anyone done that? I don't want it to be able to crank over in gear. Since it has a neutral light, wire it into a relay to the starter relay.

So when neutral is on, the power to the light also closes a small relay connected to the starting relay.

Can am skid plate question

So I got the full set on a black Friday deal, went to install today and run into the rivet issue for the foot well side pieces, who the hell has a rivet gun? Can anybody point me in the direction of a decent one they have used?

I read all about guys having all kinds of trouble with these things.

Also I have a front hitch reciever on mine, it looks like I wont be able to use it, has anyone else installed the front plate with a front hitch reciever?

01 500 Sportsman – gas tank removal/ valve adjustment

Giving my 2001 500 Sportsman a valve adjustment. First, it’s due. Second, hoping it’s solves my decompression lock up problem. Directions I found state to remove the gas tank. I’m not able to find directions as to what needs to be removed to get that point. I’m trying to avoid unneeded removal. I have the side panels off and can see both sides of the valve cover but can’t get my hands in to remove the valve cover, much less a feeler gauge. Does. The front rack need to come off to get the shroud surrounding the gas tank off?

TIA

2019 Outlander water pump

Can some with a 2019 Outlander 850 or 1000 tell me if there is some coolant
in the water pump tubing, mine have 700km and there is a little bit of coolant in the tube

I know if there is coolant in the tube it's because of the water pump seal, just want to know if it's somewhat "normal" because the engine is new

thanks!

My 2015 sportsman 570 Touring keeps dying!!!

My 2015 sportsman 570 Touring keeps dying after a little bit of riding and the engine light turns on. Then I can shut the key off and it starts right back up then it will go for a little but longer. I tried draining the tank and putting new gas in and that didnt help.

Lights issue 2005 Sportsman 500

Bought used 2005 Sportsman 500 HO and speedo doesn’t work which is fine. We have had it parked outside for six months not covered. Lights worked then but now both high n low do not. I have it covered now but have had no luck getting them to work. Bulbs are fine. Appreciate any help and have come up empty on researching.

Rack extender rusted bolts broke off in holes

I just removed two broken off bolts from a Polaris ATV metal rack extender using a torch. Simply 4 bolts hold rack extender to the plastic rack . Cant heat it so, if they break too bad.
After separating the parts, broken bolt end stuck up a little. Heated end of broken bolt and welded on some metal to build it up higher. Then heated surrounding threaded area to red hot.
Let it cool down, then touched candle wax to give it some grease. Grab onto welded bolt using vice grips and wiggle back and forth till it started to move and they came out. MUCH easier and quicker than drilling and tapping. AND will grease it or anti seize to prevent from rusting again.

I needed to remove it as it needs paint. it is getting rusty and glad I did this. The base of the extender was rusting into the plastic rack. But the idiot assembler did not use grease or anti seize on the bolts, so now I need to buy 2 new bolts. They seem to be metric.

Rear rack likely has rusted bolts too.
