Billet throttle lever 2017 xp 1000

Testing out a billet throttle lever from custom moto out of quebec.
You need a special torx bit to open the drive by wire box

it a tamper proof torx bit, called a ipr15 torx plus bit. It has 5 flutes not 6 like a t15 which is the most common type of torx with 6 flutes and has the hole in middle of bit for the pin that is head of torx screw.

Anybody ever hear of this style bit before ? Couldn't find at any supplier or store in toronto canada. Ordered from a company here called wiha tools and shipped from usa. Was $70 us for a small 7 bit set.
Tried a snap on dealer and gray and they had never heard of it either
now bike up north so wont be able to try lever out till next week

Hello, I am new to this Forum

Hello, I am new here and I really like what I've read already, I have learned quite a bit about my new wheeler already:grin
On July 3rd 2017 I purchased a 2017 Polaris Sportsman XP 1000, I have been doing a lot of research and test driving of different wheelers, I ended up choosing this one because of the comfort is unmatched and power delivery is smooth and very controllable with the 3 position switch (VERY abundant).:devil
I do mostly trail rides and light mudding, some limited technical. I don't get to ride enough, but when I do I don't like to get passed, (hence the 1000). I have only put on 50 or so miles so far, I am looking forward to many more.
I already plan on doing the frame reinforcements that I read about in this forum as well as the stronger front diff cover. I am also on the hunt for a good set of all around tires that have that Bad A$$ look, so any recommendations welcome.
I will try to upload some pictures as soon as I can.

Need help

Just bought an 05 Phoenix 200. The previous owner couldn't get it to run, said maybe bad fuel.
So we drained the tank put a new plug in and new fuel and it started right up. Drove it around for 10 mins and it stalled out, wouldn't start for 20 mins.
Then I replaced the carb, fuel filter, new battery, air filter, carb boot that goes to the air box. Did and oil change.
The machine ran 10 times better, but after about 20 mins of riding it stalled out and backed fired and wouldn't turn back over until after it sat for 20-30 mins and the battery acted dead. Found a short on the started, charged the battery and still wouldn't start after 20 mins of riding. Opened the drain on the carb, still have fuel, pulled the plug and checked for spark, still have spark. So I checked valve clearance, got that adjusted. Still the same issue, but now it will start right back up after it stalls out and idles but as soon as you give it gas it will shut off. I'm very confused on what is causing it to stall out, it's kind of acting like it's over heating, but there's nothing in the way of cooling it down.
Any help would be appreciated, I was thinking of changing out the ignition coil but I don't want to just throw parts at it.
Thanks in advance

2015 DS90 build thread

Hello everyone

I'm in the middle of upgrading my son's 2015 DS90 base model and wanted to share what I learn as I go. We do mostly fun riding and I take him to the MX track every now and then.

The first thing I wanted to do was widen the stance and upgrade the front suspension. For shocks I purchased these gas reservoir shocks from eBay that look and work great.

11" 280mm Shocks Absorber for Honda Yamaha Suzuki 50 60 70cc 90cc Scooter Yellow | eBay

I extended the A-Arms +3" for a total of +6" and bought +2" spacers for the rear and it is just a tad wider in the front as it should be. I did not widen the upper shock mounts to help soften the spring rate a bit and it seems just right. Much softer and smoother than stock.

2x2 Inch Front OR Rear Wheel Spacers Can Am DS90 DS90X 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 | eBay

The next step will be addressing the power. After doing research I found that this DS90 shares the top end (cylinder forward) with the Honda TRX 90. So you can buy a big bore kit that comes with new cylinder, high compression piston, high flow head, performance camshaft and carburetor for $450!!!

I also plan to upgrade the CDI box and the exhaust while I'm at it. If you go to scrappydogscooters.com they sell performance CDI boxes for a reasonable price. I'll post details when I get to that point because I need to figure out if we have a AC or DC CDI box. They also have the stuff for tuning the CVT.

2004 atp 330 over charging

Hello everyone I have a 2004 Polaris ATP 330 and this thing is driving me nuts. When I ride it the battery light will come on and start flashing after the bike comes off idle. I have tested with my volt meter at the battery at about 3000 RPM the voltage reads almost 18 volts at idle the voltage is about 13 volts. I replaced the ECU from Polaris and was told the regulator was inside the ECU and still no fix I have tested the wires from the stator to what i think are the wires to the ECU and tested about a 1/2 of olm there is a piece on the front that looks like a rectifier/regulator in front of that ECU but no one can tell me that's a regulator/rectifier. I have torn this thing all the way down and inspected all the wires and all are good. Could this be the stator or is that rectifier/regulator with 5 wires to it. Any help yall can give me would be great. Thanks

Deep water turned off wheeler

Good day!! Here we go.

Went through deep water on stock 2014- 850 xp ho. Wheeler stalled so I winched my self out. Stood it up on back end and drained water from exhaust and cvt plug. Cvt was right full of water, and exhaust not so much, thank god. Checked oil and seems to be fine for level and colour. Water was up to back end of seat with front end up higher so there was no chance of air box and cvt intake taking on water. After a good 10 min on its back end, she stated up like a champ and has been fine so far. I didn't mean to go that deep as we all try not to being stock but hey, it was fun after the fact of realizing I didn't just total the engine. Question- is there any device like a check valve on exhaust system to prevent water back into engine? And should I rinse out cvt housing? If so, how? Water i went through wasn't that thick muddy stuff but it also wasn't clear. Also is there anything else i should check for water? As for stalling I'm sure dielectric stuff would help on spark plugs but I think if I gave more Gass I would have made it through. Hope someone can help!! Thanks lads!!
