ATV-GURU.COM Bumpers

Got pictures today of the custom made front and rear bumpers for my new 2019 850 SP Premium from John @ ATV-GURU. I need a front bumper with a 2" receiver built in for my ice fishing gear setup. Notice the tie down loops also on both bumpers. Getting sand blasted and powder coated tomorrow and shipping them to me on Thursday. I'll get pictures posted when I get them mounted up early next week. They look AWESOME!

The stock factory brush guards just wouldn't do.......

2002 Sportsman 700 CV Shaft Replacement

Hi there, I have a 2002 Sportsman 700 where I am replacing the wheel bearings and front CV shafts.

I ordered the parts and the wheel bearings are good but when I go to replace the CV shaft it isn't the right length. There appears to be a smooth section on the shaft before the spline that goes into the wheel. On the original shaft the spline goes right up to the metal part before the boot. According to the Polaris dealer based on my VIN I have a model made after 5/1/2002 so I should be using part number 1380199. The shaft I have says it is a replacement for that part but it still isn't working.

Has anyone run into this on one of these machines? I looked at a bunch of other sites on the internet and the picture for all of them look the same as the shaft I have, except the pictures on the actual Polaris site. I would rather not have to buy OEM ones as they are over $300 CAD each.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Neal

Ranger Fuel Guage

Greetings

I'm am new to posting on forums so please forgive any ediquet issues.

I have a 2019 Polaris Ranger 570 EPS 2 seat model. The fuel gauge is off by 5 gallons or about 50%. It is still sitting at the dealer.(3 weeks now) The dealer has followed the Polaris script and replaced the fuel pump which includes the fuel sending unit. That did not correct the problem. The dealer also tested the new and old sending unit. It test with the manufactures specified ohms at the unit and at the Gauge or head unit. They also tested several other new machines on the lot. The other machines also tested the same. They checked the fuel volume and determined that the Gauge flashes empty when there is 4.2 gallons of fuel remaining on these other machines. Mine is closer to 5 gallons remaining.

I have spoke with a Polaris customer service rep. She said the Polaris Techs say that is normal and Polaris isn't going to do anything else. I got heated and told her it is a manufacture defect. I think a Polaris engineer should reflash the computer to account for the ohms or use a different sending unit. After some convincing she agreed to have a tech look at the issue again, but haven't heard anything since.

I have never had a fuel gauge off that far on any Polaris machines. Nor are they off that far any friends machines. Any one else have this issue?

I think it is a safety defect. I ride in the middle of north central Idaho where there is rarely another person. A untrustworthy fuel gauge is more than an inconvienance. When the snow hits in the high country you burn a lot of fuel trying to get home.

If Polaris won't fix the problem anyone now how to reprogram the computer to fix it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Heavvvy duty suspension

Hey guys. I did a search on here and couldn’t find anything past the factory style heavy duty spring setups. My scrambler 400 4x4 is my main trail rider now. Often times my wife is on the back too. I’m almost 300lbs myself, she’s another 140 or so. We also have the big rear seat cargo box now. I’m sure getting my factory Fox shock rebuilt would help, but for the cost of rebuilding and even re-valving, I could get different suspension. I’m not sure the factory setup could be upgraded enough to handle the weight anyway. I’ve been looking at the idea of a RZR shock swap. They’re designed to hold up much more weight. I’ve had trouble finding specific dimensions on RZR shocks. Has anybody heard of or done this? If not, could I trouble you RZR guys to take some measurements? Preferably 1000s, 4 doors, turbos, etc... basically the heaviest RZR models as I only have one rear shock not 2

Sportsman 500 Clutch Vendors

I have a 1998 Sportsman 500 4x4 that overall is in great shape, but the primary clutch is beyond rebuilding and sounds like a jackhammer at idle.
New from Polaris is $600+ so that's not feasible. Aftermarket from eBay or Amazon is $100 but they have a pretty awful reputation for coming apart.
Online searches I haven't been able to come up with a decent middle ground source for new or quality rebuilt clutches.
Anyone have suggestions on where to get something in the $300-ish range?

1995 swing arm

removed the swing arm and wonder how much larger should the hole in the frame be as compared to the bolt. Sure looks like there could be a bushing there but the parts list does not show anything just the parts that are installed in the swing arm and the bushing pressed into the transmission.

Any help would be great.

LED Headlights Replacement – 2017 XP1000 Touring

Been poking around looking at what guys are doing for LED headlight replacement. I dont mind doing the research at all but how in the heck do you find out the model # of OEM lights so you can cross check LED bulbs? Owners manual shows 50-60W; big deal-I couldnt find any part#s to cross check.

Also if you have a positive recommendation, I'm all ears...

2001 Polaris Sportsman 500 engine swap

Hello from France everyone !

This is my first post on this forum and I am opening a new thread as I was not able to find a solution to my issue.

I own a Polaris 500 6x6 from 2000 or 2001. The engine is dead and I wonder what engine I can use in order to do a motor swap.
I had a look at a Polaris parts dealer website, in order to find the engine references.

On my ATV, the engine is labelled EH500PLE100. However, on internet, I can find the reference EH50PLE10 in the specs. I suppose it refers to the same engine model.

I wonder if it's possible to swap the motor to a 2005 Sportsman HO. I found a used one with reference EH500PLE134.
But I have no idea if it's possible.

Has any of you performed such an exchange ? Can somebody tell me which engine could be compatible with my Sportsman ?

Thank you in advance for your help !

Tom
