Need help on first time purchase! 2001 Trail Boss 325.
Hello!
First post here and looking to maybe purchase my first ATV.. a Polaris Trail Boss 325. I've been storing 2 ATVs for a friend for a while and now he is looking to sell them. I can't afford the Sportsman he is looking to sell but am interested in the Trail Boss. I'm not much of a mechanic but I can do basic things like change my brakes, oil, etc. with the help of YouTube. Just wanting to run this potential purchase by folks here to see if I should snag this thing up or run the other way!
Anyways, the thing starts right up and seems to run great. I only have a couple questions about it that hopefully you all can help!
1. It has some goofy "lines to nowhere" that maybe make more sense to those who are more mechanically savvy. I was told they are some type of vent for the fuel system. Is this "normal?" I will attempt to attach the 3 photos. 3rd photo shows what I believe to be the origin of the "lines to nowhere." 1st photo shows one of the lines. 2nd photo shows the line that hangs down below the ATV. If this is normal or a proper "hack" could I cut this line a bit shorter so it doesn't drag on the ground?
2. The foot brake doesn't work. It goes to the floor and no braking occurs. It does, however, spring back up normally like it should. In my scanning of this site and others it seems that I should try to bleed the brake lines to troubleshoot this first? Expensive fix? Something I could likely remedy myself?
3. The Trail Boss doesn't have much power in reverse. I had to back it over a small curb to get into the barn and it just sputtered and couldn't do it. I got a bit of a running start backwards and it had no problem. Is this typical or something I should look into?
Lastly, per NADA Guides it looks like low retail on this particular year/model (base) is $595 with average retail being $780. What would you folks offer, knowing what you do about the 3 concerns I listed.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Clanging from front rt
I have a clanging noise coming from the front right side of my scrambler. Started about a month ago seems to be getting worse. After every ride I tear down the whole entire front end check the bearings and grease them check tie rod ends and check the ball joints everything seems fine. There's no play in the shaft I know noises from the differential went on a lift. I really am at a loss sounds mostly like a link of chain rattling around on the rim that's about the best I can do to describe it any ideas
exhaust
i feel like my exhaust noise has gotten louder? is that a thing that happens and its time for a new exhaust or muffler?
my 570 2014 is easily twice as loud as my buddies 900....
any suggestions?

Considering Defender vs Ranger
Hey there. New to this site, have had numerous brp products in my life. I was fairly set on a Ranger XP but all the negative reviews and my own personal experiences are pushing me away from Polaris. Checked out the can am’s yesterday and they look nice. I’m mainly using the rig for yard work, snow plowing, hunting, food plots. Would the HD8 suffice? Is there enough power? Would love some feedback from current 800 owners.
engine swap
Has anyone done a 700 carb to 700 EFI full engine swap on their Sportsman? Just curious of what all would need to be changed out....
Additionally I recently installed a new Gates belt and now the damn thing has idle creep and is a PITA to shift. Hoping it just needs worn in and seated. It went on very easy.

Recall on 2018 renegades
Fuel splashing out when opening gas cap. Could cause a fire. Well my 2014 Outlander will do this too. BRP going to fix mine too, not likely.
Blueprints for front and rear bumper/ brush gard
Im trying to make a custom bumper for a 2015 polaris sportsman 570. Cant find any blueprints or specifications for making your own. Does anyone have any or links to find blueprints.
Thanks

Heat shield instruction
Just got this right side Heat shield for my 570 utility, can't get the instruction off the dealers site. Where does the two plastic washers go? Most important where does the large flexible heat material go?
