Oil lube and filter

Good Morning Gentlemen.

I have a 850 Sportsman XP HO and think that maybe it'll be cheaper for me to do my own grease fittings and oil change. Now, i'm not a mechanic, but i do know a little basic stuff.

My question is.....i'd like to know how many and where the grease fittings are and do i have to get oem specific oil?

Hi I’m new here

Hello, I just got into 4 wheelers this past Memorial Day, I've had some older Polarises and they've never failed to put a smile on my face. I currently own a 2014 Ace on Terryx Tusk 27s. It's the 325 but it sure is fun. I'm going to sell it and get either a 900sp or a 900xc. I can't stop looking at track kits and Scramblers though. My wife has already said yes to the Slingshot, so I'll probably sell the Ace for the down payment and get the bigger Ace later. The kids have asked for a 2up instead and I really like them being involved. Oh the decisions (Yes, I know the simplest solution is to by them all.) The problem I run into is my nearest Polaris dealer is also the only CanAm dealer in the area and I can't get anyone there to have any type of conversation where everything is shit and I should buy a CanAm. They even sell Honda and Suzuki...anyway, I wanted some unbiased opinion, because I've found just as much info online about CanAm defects, and the only people who rag on Polaris are usually CanAm owners or advocates. I like recreational riding with the kids and some moderately aggressive trail riding. I know I love power, but I tend to like the Sportsman more than the Scrambler. The Ace is just a bucket of fun. I'll be reading, y'all take care.

Line hanging on new 2017 850

I’ve got a 1 month old 2017 Sportsman 850 and while greasing it today I noticed a line hanging down. Just wondering if this is some kind of breather line or if it’s disconnected from somewhere? Couldn’t see anything obvious without pulling plastics off and I had to leave for a few days without pulling it all apart

Oil in exhaust

Hey guys so my buddy bought a polaris scrambler sport 400 2 stroke doesn't run. I found milky oil in the counter balance so I pulled apart the water pump and put new gasket in and everything looked great even the crank seals. It had alot of black oil in the exhaust and when I was doing the new topend I looked in the crank but couldn't see how much oil in there. I rebuilt the top end and has good compression. Started right up ran for a few min then quit. I'm wondering if the previous people put oil in the crankcase instead of the counter balance and now that oil is traveling up when the motor is running and fouling out the combustion? I let it sit for a few days and it start right up again but ran like crap. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated this thing has been a big pain in my ass

New with questions

Hey everyone! I am new here and i have a question.....

I have a 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570. That i bought last summer from an individual. had 243 miles on it. i use it to ride my grandbabies around when they come to visit. It is not mistreated, doesn't go through mud or water. regular maintanance kept up. Kept with cover over it when not in use. I went to ride it the other day and it acts like it doesn't want to move forwards or backwards....what could be the problem

2003 Predator 90 stalls out

I have a 2003 Polaris Predator 90 that sat for about a year. Surprisingly it started right up on the 3rd kick. I let it warm up and went to take off and it fell on its face. I put the choke about half way and it took off no problem so I thought maybe I needed to let it warm up a little more. Well it didn’t matter how long I let it warm up. With the choke off it just kept bogging out but if I left that choke half way it ripped around just fine. I drained all the old gas a put fresh gas in it but it didn’t change anything. Also it idles fine with the choke off but doesn’t want to idle with the choke half way so it’s the exact opposite. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to fix it? I’m going to take the carb off tomorrow and clean it and change the plug. The quad is completely stock, I bought it brand new in 2003 for my nephew and now I have a daughter of my own that I saved it for. Any help would be much appreciated.

Bumper/brush guard

Would a front steel bumber from a 2008 sportsman 800 fit a 2011 800? Looking for a used one for a decent price and have found a few of these but not sure if they will fit.
