intelligent throttle control (itc) for 2019 1000r

Just noticed now the 2019 1000 outlander/renegade get intelligent throttle control (itc).

Not sure I’m sold on the throttle by wire system managing throttle response based on driving mode. I remember reading complaints from commander owners when it was introduced there some years back.

Was all in on a 2019. Now thinking a good deal on a 2018 might be the way to go.

backfiring after gets wet

2014 Ace 325 EFI, about 3500 km

Has run flawlessly until now. Found some deep water, which never bothered it before, but now after getting wet starting backfiring and would be hard to get going. Starts and idles no problem.

Let this dry out over a day and everything was normal. So to test the theory hit the water again and the problem came back.

I've checked all wiring and connections and everything looks good. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Selling on Amazon

Hey Gang,
We sell SO MUCH off Amazon these days -- which is understandable as it's such an easy channel to use. We can get 50-75 orders a day.

If you need winch accessories or want one of our VIPER winches, DENALI plows, FIRESTORM heaters, SIRIUS lights, etc., please feel free to come directly to us as the manufacturing source of all these products. We can do much better than Amazon pricing "off the record" because they require such high fees to sell on their site.

We'd rather pass along big savings to you than pay stupid Jeff Bezos more of our money for the same product.

PM me with questions or quotes.....or you can give us a shout. Thanks!

18 sportsman 850 sp winch

Winch mount

Hello everyone. I'm new to the ATV scene but I wanted to get one for plowing and ice fishing. I bought a 2013 Polaris sportsman 500HO and I want to mount a 2500 badlands winch but I'm not sure exactly what I need to get the job done as far as a mounting plate. Harbor freight carries one but I'm not sure if I'll need anything else. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

H OV warning- Polaris 570

Recently my 570 sportman has come up with a "H OV 17.4" but varying numbers and check engine light. What is this problem? Is it over charging or over heating? after 5-8 minutes of running it goes away and there are no problems. I just want it fixed!!!

Questions about a clutch issue.

Hello internet! I have a 2015 Polaris Sportsman ETX. I have done the following modifications:

-Warn Vantage 3000 winch
-26" GBC Afterburn Tires
-HMF EFI Tuner
-HMF Titan Exhaust with snorkel kit
-PVD and Air Cleaner Snorkels
-K&N Air Filter with Filterwears water resistant pre-filter

Recently a defective drive belt shredded in my clutch housing, and I mean shredded. Chunchs if the teeth of the belt came off the thing, supposedly there was a recall and they sent me a new one. While I was going to be doing work on it I figured I would get a clutch kit. I talked to Ryan at RVS and they said they couldn't develop a clutch kit that improved performance at all, so he advised me to tighten the secondary clutch spring. I set the secondary cluch to 1 and the helix to 2, the tightest setting. Now when I put the helix back I set the spring put the helix an the splined shaft and turned the clutch clockwise to the next groove and set the helix. I drove it to begin the break in period and it sounds like something is sliding and banging in the clutch assembly. It appears to only happen when accelerating of the line, maybe a bit of a quick acceleration or if i accelerate and release, it is hard to tell exactly but ot makes a cha-chuck kind of sound.

So my questions then:

1. Is that sound ok? Does it just need to be broken in? Did I re-install the clutch improperly?

2. I did not take off the primary clutch when I did this, could debris from the defective belt have gotten behind the primary to cause something like that? I may take it off anyway and check now.

3. How long exactly is the break-in period for new belts?

4. I torqued the secondary clutch on the shaft with 13 foot lbs of torque because that's what I had heard but is that correct for this machine? While I'm at it what is the torque supposed to be for the primary?

Any information you have is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Mega Mayhem Tires

This was a post I did in a different thread. Decided to put it in the product review section.

I just did a good ride on Sunday where I hit several different trail conditions with my new Mega Mayhems. I really like them. I cant speak on the durability yet but here are my thoughts.

Paved Road - Obviously they ride a bit rough. Nicer than the Mudzillas though, they don't seem to get the back and forth wobble the old tires had at high speeds. I am not a fast rider though. Took it up to 97 Km/hour as a test but when I have to ride on roads I usually like to cruise at 60 -70 km/hour and the tires were fine at those speeds. Yes they are not ideal, but for the times you have to be on paved roads they are just fine.

Dirt Roads/Forest Roads - Pretty much the same as paved, handling at the speeds I drive was good. The Mudzillas pushed when cornering I found, the Mega Mayhems don't really. I did find the gravel roads to be a lot more comfortable on than the paved, but I have never liked riding on the paved roads with any tire I have had.

Hardpack Trails - Perfectly fine, comfortable, they get good traction when climbing hills or cornering, also climbed over logs and other obstacles fine. Had no problems with them here, was actually happy with the way they performed.

Rocks - Not very good. Decent traction going straight, but tend to slip sideways especially on wet rocks. (talking the large section of canadian shield rock, not loose rocks) a few times they slid and caught me off guard on steep down hill sections over this.

Mud - First of all I am not a very good mud rider, but I found that the Mega Mayhems dig bad. If I tried to go through mud holes full throttle I buried myself. But if I got stuck doing that or even entered a little slower they would slowly pull through. I ended up only having to be pulled out once. Every other time I was able to be easy on the throttle and slowly crawl out.

Overall I found the Mega Mayhems to be a great all around tire. Not the best at anything, but for mud tires they seem to do good in almost all situations. This is after only one ride though, on the type of trails I normally ride, which always have hardpack trails, rocks, mud and water crossings (Haliburton trail system in Ontario). Hopefully they hold up durability wise, because I would like to use them for the long term.

I have tried several different tires on these trails and the people I ride with have a large variety of machines and tires to compare too. Sorry for the long winded post, just figured my thoughts may help somebody.
