General ATV maintenance

I bought a 2012 sportsman 800efi last year for hunting and light use around the home. Not for riding fun. I’m new to ATVs but not new to light mechanic work on vehicles. Other than the oil changes on the motor what other periodic maintenance do you all do? I would be surprised if I put more than 20hrs of use on this bike a year. I just want to maximize it’s life. It currently has 275hrs and 2200miles on it. As stated it does not go into mud pits or anything. It gets me around my property for hunting and will occasionally plow my small driveway. The pervious owner did ride it and possibly abused it but obviously said they didn’t and that they took good care of it. Who really knows. It appears to burn a little oil. I can’t see or smell it but I had to add just a touch of oil to it between oil changes.

New here

High, bought a 570 xmr months ago and now im wanting to make some adjustments such as exhaust and fuel optimizer and later on down the road a clutch setup.

I have my eyes set on an exhaust system from Empire Industries. I like the fact you can get them ceramic coated. The only thing im hesitant about is the fact I have never heard one on a smaller bike.

Thomas Brown Earns First Win of The Season at RedBud National

The tension coming into round nine of the 2018 ATV Motocross National Championship (ATVMX) presented by CST Tires, an AMA National Championship, was already at an all-time high as the front-runners were locked in a very tight points battle. As race time drew near, the forecast was not looking to be in favor of the riders lining up.

Painless Fuse Block 70107 install issues

I am installing a Painless Fuse Block 70107 on my 2011 Polaris Rzr 800. I have the pink wire installed on the accessory fuse in the factory fuse block using the supplied fuse tap. I connected the red wire from the fuse block to my extra battery. I grounded the fuse kit by crimping a ring connector on a ground wire and running to the frame below factory battery where everything is grounded.

I started the Rzr up and none of the wires appear to be hot. I hooked up speakers and a small amp to one of the ignition hot wires (gray) and it is not getting power.

Did I miss something when I installed the fuse tap? Or do I need to run the fuse block directly to the starter battery as opposed to the spare battery? And since I am here was the method I used to ground the fuse block correct?

I should mention I am about a Beginner-Moderate experience level of UTV electrical wiring.

Removing transmission

04.5 sportsman 400 , does rear rack, fenders etc...have to be removed to get transmission out? My nephew switched from high to low while moving approx 20mph. Something is messed up inside, even in neutral the wheels will lock up. In hi it will move about 3 feet then something disengages inside and it will not move. I've had it apart about 5 years to change both drive chains and it worked great until now but I remember having to take everything off, curious if it could be removed easier. I had it down to bare frame behind fuel tank last time. Thanks
