Hello Riders, hoping someone has an answer or comment to my '13 850 HO EP issue. At just over 1,000 miles when shifting into either forward H, L gear and/or reverse, there is a short delay in the gear engagement along with a jolt as the throttle is increased. Feels like a delay in the clutch or belt engaging. This occurs either at cold startup or after running, like something needs an adjustment to "take up the slack."
Drive belt wearing out or the clutch mechanism sticking? Thanks in advance for any comments?

I recently purchased my Sportsman 700, there is a grinding noise that sounds like it's coming from the front, it gets much louder when it's moving. No matter the gear,2 or 4 wheel drive. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bill

Hi - relatively new to rebuilding engines and ATV engines in particular - so please go easy on me...

I've got a 1986 Trail Boss 250 I recently bought that supposedly would only run when using starter fluid and then ran very rough. So I've been taking it apart piece by piece and today I took off the cylinder head and the piston looks like its in rough shape but i'm having a hard time determining if the cylinder walls themselves are a problem.

Since its so old and I have it all apart maybe its worth the $100 to bore it and another $100 for the piston and I've got a brand new head? Another part of me says the cylinder looks just fine and feels very smooth and I should just get new piston rings (these seem really loose) and call it a day and put that money into something else.

I wanted a tire with more wet stuff traction vs the OEM carlisle act. They were fine on gravel roads, but would get stuck in mud/black earth holes in trails.
I just got my set of mega mayhem installed and went for a ride.

Awesome traction in mud holes and forest trails, no slip. Not going to get stuck. They grab a lot.

Unfortunately, the trade off is :
Woobly ride on gravel/dirt roads. Feels unstable at higher speeds. Feels like you are floating on the trail and not really in control.

KM/H: 50 feels ok, 60 feels fast and 70 is probably the fastest you can go. With my old 2005 bike with worn out act tires, I could go 90 and it didn't feel unstable.

Tire PSI is 7, was it a bit low for gravel roads? Should I bump up the psi for better gravel stability?

I don't really want to deal with switching tire sets for gravel/forest trail use. I'll probably just keep those tires and be done with it, but when they wear out, I wonder if I should just go with a less aggressive thread to get better gravel manners and just accept that it won't go through anything mud.

Opinions?

Where should the fuel pump be located on an Outlander 400? Mine is near the carb and wondering if that is the correct location for the fuel pump.
