hi from norway
hi guys, just a hello from norway :smile
i’ve been riding an outlander 650 max for the last three years, its been amazing. over here in norway its legal to ride on road, so it’s been my everyday drive since the day i bought it. i even sold my car as you dont need to pay toll roads and can ride in the bus lanes, which saves me a half hour off my daily commute because i’m not stuck in a three mile tailback every morning:angel luckily the wife lets me borrow her car if were doing the family thing. the only bad thing is off roading is strictly illegal here, with a $2500 fine and your atv confiscated. we make up for that with trips to sweden and poland. in sweden there is a 17 day off road tour in the summer which is awesome, and in poland there is some pretty hardcore off road competitions.
i’ve finally taken the plunge and bought a 2018 renegade 1000 xxc, so i’m looking forward to some more adventures to come :smile

Sportsman 700 Engine Overhaul
Just bought my old mans sportsman for dirt cheap. Carbed model. Has a lower end knock, and I also got a parts motor for cheap offline. Just wondering if there’s anything I should do to it while it’s out. Heard a little bit about cams, port and polish heads but I have no idea which direction to go. Anyone ever upgrade one of these before?

A Arms replacement
Do I need to replace both the front and rear A arms? I keep breaking tie rods so Ive replaced those with heavy duty ones only to realize that one front A arm is bent slightly. So im upgrading those as well. Thoughts?

Fan relay location 400 HO 2005
I'm troubleshooting the cooling fan of my Outlander 400 HO 2005 (manufactured in 2004). I've located what I think is the temp switch on the right hand side of the cylinder (image). One of the cords to it has +12V but the fan won't start if I bypass the switch and short-circuit the cords. There is current through all four fuses (image). Also one of the two cords to the fan carries +12V. I haven't tried connecting the fan directly to 12V but it has 1.2 Ohms between the terminals. The prime suspect is the relay, if only I could find it (I guess it's maneuvered by the switch and connects the fan to ground). I found the fuses in the the front storage but there is no relay box. I know there are books to buy, but perhaps someone knows?

Just Bought a 2018 Outlander MAX XT 850
So we picked it up today and showed her, her new home. Man she is a beauty! Just can't wait to get out on the trails. Been spending a lot of time going through the Operator's Guide and tonight going to view the safety DVD.
So does anyone know what the name of some small part the attaches to the winch cable to prevent the hook from going through the rails? It was mentioned to me by the dealer, but it was pissing down rain and I wasn't paying to much attention to that part.
