Got my polaris

It’s an 04 I believe, anyhow same body style, 500 ho. Got it home today, new battery, go to start it and it clicks. Look from the side where the battery is there is a black square module looking thing, rectangular almost, like a little
Block with power from battery and a big lead like a battery wire going from it. It has 3 smaller wires attached to it , red black and white I think. Anyhow, it’s cracked and I see a coil of wires inside of it. Now, me being me things is a solenoid, it slides inside a rubber fitting to hold it, but every time I look up a solenoid for this bike they all look like normal solenoids for vehicles. Is this part a solenoid!?

override bypass

I went to check the mileage and other things on my 2003 sportsman 500, but the previous owner disconnected the switch, I guess so he didn't have to use it for reverse.

now I can't cycle through the menus to see info on the speedo.

Is it something simple like a cut wire I can reconnect, or is it something more involved?

07 outlander 500 stalled and won’t start….

So I was trying to be stubborn and not ask for help but I can’t take it anymore. I bought a lightly used 2007 Can Am Outlander 500 about a month ago. Shortly after purchasing, I noticed it seemed like it was lacking power and would stall from after heavy usage (I got a super deal on it so I wasn’t mad). I tore a rear boot so I parked it until I could get a new boot and get it fixed. Fixed the boot and I decide I’m gonna get some premium gas and sea foam to see if I can get it running right. I fired it up, drove it out back, parked it and left it run to let some gas run through it. It stalled after 3-5 minutes. It would turn over fine but wouldn’t start back up. I put a new air filter on it, new fuel filter, new fuel pump, and I have spark. WHAT AM I MISSING?!

Good xt price?

Looking at getting into a 18 Outlander Max 1000 xt in the brushed aluminum color, I checked about the price from a dealer close to me in PA that my buddy uses and was told 13,800 out the door, I thought it was a little high, I realize it's a higher end atv, but I would think there would be a little more room, I was thinking more like 12,500.I would appreciate any info. Thank Jay

clutch confusion

I asked a few days about about converting my current 2003 sportsman 500 EBS clutch to a non EBS.

I got some advice about which belt I can use, but now I need a little more info.

I found a non EBS clutch from a local parts guy but he told me that I need to bring my spring and weights from my old clutch with me to put in it.

I took apart the 2 cracked sheave EBS clutches I have (from the sportsman and a 500 magnum) to remove the weights.

both have blue springs, but the sportsman had 10WH (46 gram) weights and the magnum had 10MH (50 gram).

Not sure which weights to use, whether it makes a big difference or whether either are even good for non EBS.

I know a little about how the clutches work, but as for what weights for what atv or clutch I'm not sure.

I'm running stock size (25 inch) tires and plan to only trail ride with it. no plow, towing or anything heavy.

Not sure if elevation makes any difference, I'm in Ottawa, ON and we're at 70M (about 200 feet) above.

2008 outlaw 525s elecrtic power loss

My outlaw has an electrical problem.
Battery is at 12.5 volts but I have no power anywhere on the bike.
The first time I had to flip the key on and off a couple times then it was fine.
The other day I had power, made it about 100 yards then nothing.
Short time of running happened two times. Now I have checked all connections, grounds, and battery termals. I also replaced the key switch. Puzzling to me it was a grandule failue. Any help out there?

2015 Sportsman 570 Fuel Injector Removal

While riding a few days ago my machine lost power and I had to keep pushing and releasing the throttle to keep the engine running. The engine began backfiring while doing this. I loaded the ATV onto a trailer to take it back to the cabin where I replaced the spark plug and ensured the fuel pump was working. I added a little Heat to the fuel just in case there was some water in the fuel but the three other ATV’s with me were using the same fuel and they ran fine. This was no help so I removed the fuel line and added some carburetor cleaner a to the fuel rail and turned the key a few times and let it soak for a few minutes. I did this several times and the engine began running “normal”. I rode it a little and it lost power again.

I suspect the fuel injector is partially clogged. I’ve always used ethanol free gas but I’ve never added a fuel injector cleaner.

I attempted to remove the fuel injector. I removed the two bolts attaching the fuel rail assembly and pulled up on the assembly but the injector will not come out of the engine.

What am I doing wrong?

Paint A-Arm Guards?

I purchased Ricochet A Arm guards for my Sportsman. They are not painted, and the plastic ones on there now that they are replacing are black. Can I paint these new ones with like a gloss black rust oleum, or is that a bad idea and should I just leave them how they are?
