I know exhaust threads are everywhere and I sort of got some answers but I just wanted to post again to see what people come up with. I just got a '16 renegade 1000. It came with the HMF full (i think) Performance exhaust and the HMF optimizer. Without riding it I know it will be too loud for me. I also have a stock '09 800 and I am happy with the stock sound. So my questions...

If I buy quiet cores for the dual HMF's will I actually be able to do full day trail rides with no ear plugs and no ears ringing after? And will I have to adjust my setup on the optimizer?

I am looking to get some bigger tires for my ATV. I have been looking through the forums and cannot find anything recent. I saw some posts about the rear passenger foot rest being in the way but also others that say the 27" will fit. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Right now I have 26x9x14 PXT and 26x11x14 PXT w/factory rims.

So I finally got to take the new to me 15 outlander 800 xmr for its maiden ride I was doing some cleaning off in a stream and noticed some milky looking fluid in my vent tube so I'm assuming I've got some water in the diff. I'm looking for some suggestions on how to flush the fluid out. I plan on draining the fluid and switching from vent lines to bellows to rule out the vent line leaking. Should I drain the fluid then put some cheap 75w-90 in it run it again and then drain it and put the recommended 75w-140 in? I called around some and the shops I called said they get the diff good and got then drain the fluid and put new in but I'm not convinced that all the water would be gone.

New here. Have an ‘11 sportsman. Lights were working, now I get nothing not even brake lights. Is there a relay or fuse some where to check?

I took my 2007 Polaris Outlaw 500 out yesterday afternoon and somehow the chain got some slack and completely mangled the sprocket. Also as a result it snapped the foot shifter clean off at the case. So I was wondering if there’s anyone out there who has encountered something similar. The shaft that the foot shifter bolts on to is totally broken off and there is no way to reattach except for installing a whole new shaft for the shifter to bolt on to. Seems like you may have to tear down the whole bottom end of the engine. Any one has this problem or any ideas on how to go about fixing it?

Just finished replacing the choke cable on a 2005 Sportsman 400 I was working on this weekend (I buy and sell them on the side to make riding more financially neutral). Anyways, I got stuck trying to take off the 12mm nut on the side of the carb, and wanted to offer a new solution that I don't think any have suggested yet. Because I was replacing the entire cable, it didn't matter if I cut it--so I did, right next to the 12mm nut. After doing this, a 12mm 1/4" drive deep socket fit over the nut with no clearance issues. Took less than 2 minutes total with a cost of about $15 for the new cable. My advice to anybody that's trying to completely remove a carb would be to order a used cable on eBay for $15, save yourself some time and just cut it so you can remove it quickly. Easy, simple solution. Notching a wrench is a much more refined solution--just wanted to share what I did in case you don't have the tools or skills to notch a wrench!

My 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700 has a centralized hilliard , not on the hubs and my switch lights up fine, indicators for gears and all work in cluster but no speedometer speed reading. I would like to know how to test front gear case before taking it out. I have voltage on the two pin connector ( only one white connector). I have it up on stands and it just got fresh polaris oil ( yes right stuff) .. Apologies if it's already in forms but every search I do talks about hubs, I don't have wires on or near my struts. Thanks
