Hey, my neighbor got a 2003 sportsman 90 from someone he works with that he wants to give his son for Christmas. It sat for a long time in a shed and has definitely been well ridden.
Anyway he wanted me to try and fix it up before Christmas.

The issue I'm having is fuel dumps out of bottom of carb and I couldn't get it started. So I took off the carb and took apart the float bowl. There was a ton of gunk in there like I've never seen before. I cleaned the jet and bowl and everything thoroughly. Blew it out with compressed air when I was finished. Now it will run if I keep my thumb almost completely blocking the intake throat of carb but it still drips fuel out the bottom. Assuming that means it's running very lean. And I don't know why it's still leaking fuel.

I would love to throw a new carb on it but it wouldn't get here till after Christmas. Also. It smokes alot while running. Hoping that's just oil buildup in the exhaust from sitting so long and it will burn off eventually but that's an issue to deal with after I get it running.

My wife's 2007 sportsman 500EFI is hard to start. When i say hard to start, i mean without using the throttle. Using the throttle, it will start, and once it does it idles at 1100 or so with no problem. I have cleaned the air filter, replaced the plug, added some extra seafoam to the tank and idled for 45 minutes. Still wont start without the throttle. Any guesses as to what to do next? The shop will probably charge and arm and leg and maybe a kidney to diagnose and fix i would imagine. Any help is appreciated as i am 57 and dont wanna delay my retirement to fix this thing.

Hey all. Was out riding on the weekend and while ripping up a hill I caught some air, went sideways a bit, and the right front tire caught the frozen bank. It ripped the steering out of my hands. And rolled on its side onto me on the side of this steep hill. I held it there and got it back on its feet and up the hill. My right tire was calked out. The left tire and steering matched each other while strait but the right tire is tweaked out. I've checked everything from any bends in the frame ( had the frame mod done) to tie rod, and the knuckle the tie rods connect to on the steering stem. Nothing seemed out of whack until I noticed the space difference between the spindle and wheel left to right. The right side is about 1/2" closer to the rim than the left. Anyone ever bent the spindle arm that the tie rods mount too? I just adjusted the the rods for now and it drives fine. Thanks !

Hi Guys
I have G2 rene 800 xxc . Last time hit a tree preaty bad. Removed all plastic found bent one side front end.left tire toe out 1’’. Replaced rediator , fixed brakets ,had enought threads on tie rod to do aligment . Took it for a spin . Runs fine . Doest pull . Everything else looking good. Do i really need ti fix a frame . It doesnt look to bad to me.Check pic. Please share thoughts . Thanks
