I noticed my battery was not charging while running so i noticed on the back of my rectifier it has a small crack in it. I figured that was the problem. I purchase a new one non OEM replacement online ($15.00) and plugged it in. Each time it would start, about 2-3 seconds my fuse off my Battery would burn up. It would light up and blow. I put my old one back on and the fuse don't blow but my battery is still not charging. I can fix just about anything but when it comes to electrical troubleshooting is my weakest point.
Questions below:
-If there is a short to ground, wouldn't it burn up my fuse no matter which Retifier is hooked up?
-Is there a possibility this retifier being a cheaper no name brand producting too much current and blowing the fuse?
-Just want a starting point before i start tracing out all the wire which is all wrapped up with tape the whole way to the fron of the bike.
Thanks,
