I have a 2001 Traxter 500 XT, which was have idle problem after it sat for about 3 months. When I took the carburetor apart I found it was pretty gummed up. So rather then trying to clean all the jets, etc. I order a new carb repair kit. Once the kit arrived I totally dismantled the carb and soaked it in carb cleaner for 3 days. After that I blow out all the openings, orifices I could find. I then installed all the new jets, etc. from the kit. I verified that the markings on the jets were identical to the original ones. Set the float as per manufacture specs as will as the air needle.
The machine started instantly but would only run with the throttle 1/4 to full - as soon as I release the throttle to idle it stops running WILL NOT IDLE - even with the choke on 1/2 or full. Checked the rubber connector hose between the carb and intake manifold and found it secure and no cracks, air leaks, etc. It also has a push/pull primer line that feeds fuel into the intake manifold. When this line is connected it will suck fuel directly from the tank into the manifold and idle very roughly. All fuel lines and filter have been cleaned and changed right from the tank to the carb. I AM COMPLETELY LOST - HELP The only two items that were not in the kit and not changed was the Main Jet Diaphram on the top of the carb - but I would believe if this failed I would not be able to run it a full throttle. The other Diaphram is on the side of the carb which I am not sure but may have some effect on the idle air supply. Again HELP
