ATV safety course

I bought my quad about 7 years ago and, as of yet, Polaris has not contacted me for the safety course. Yes, I have contacted them multiple times expressing interest and each time they promise to let me know. Anyone else having problems with getting them to contact you?

Other than that, the only issue I've had is getting a faulty gear indication. Apparently after riding through some mud puddles, the shifter will not show the correct gear. The quad still works, just doesn't show whether it's in high or low reliably. A good bath got the mud out of the lever and all works fine now.

Lithium Battery

Has Anyone changed to a Lithium Battery on the 2017 Sportsman XP 1000? If so can you share the source and part number of the Battery you used?

Was it a direct replacement and drop in?

Thanks

New Outlander?

Hi everybody

I have a Outlander 2016 850XT, and I love it, but my first choice was an XTP, now I have a pretty good deal in exchange with my 850 for a 2017 XTP 1000r, I know that the 1000 have 10hp more and I searched a lot about this but did find a real answer to my question, is there a good difference in power?

I run mostly during winter and sometime I feel that more power is needed, I run summer too.
I know that the 1000r can make more heat then the 850 but I nerver do mud only trail during summer.

I would not to change for another 850 even if it's an XTP, if a change it will be for a 1000r XTP but is the 1000r worth it??

thanks!!

Visco-lock

I’ve seen several posts on the fact that the Visco-Lok is a sealed unit and cannot be serviced, however I just purchased the Torq Locker and they have a youtube video and it talks about disabling the Visco-Lok on 2015.5 and later models. It shows that the Visco-Lok is bolted on the ring gear and shows how it can be dismantled. My 6x6 obviously is not a 2015.5 because I don’t have that option (mine is all one unit). The video shows the inside of the Visco-Lok for those who are curious, but they explain that the unit is not serviceable, and once opened cannot be reused. Anyway thought some of you would like to see it.

picking up a 2013 800r max xt tomarrow

as stated above i found this unit after a couple of months looking, are the 2013 models decent? im coming from years of honda atvs ..it has 1000 miles and 90 hours and appears to be in great condition..its from a one owner private seller, it has front and rear light bars and a nice rear storage trunk, is there anything in particular i need to check over on this machine? are there any recalls or computer flash upgrades that i need to be concerned about ? is 7999.00 a decent price? If i buy it i will be looking for a plow set up also in the 400 to 450 price range what do you all use and like or dislike about them? thanks for the replies

I got a 2001 sportsman 500 some one left the choke on for three days and the engine filled with gas. i didnt think that was possible so my question is did the choke cause this or do i need to clean the carb?

New Minnesota owner

Hello all. Long time rider here. Coming from Polaris, Yamaha, and a Honda trx 250r. Finally decided to spend the money and buy my dream mud monster. I picked up a 2017 Renegade 1000 XMR last week. Looking forward to learning as much as possible from you guys. Ride on!

Front end Noise

Afternoon fellow ATVers. Leland here. As some of you might know I now live in Mexico and we use our 2017 Outland 1000 Max for a street machine. ATVs are street legal here. Today my wife and I took it on a 15 to 25 km run. Temps here have been about 95 or so degrees. Stop and go traffic a bit and a good stretch of 65km/h. We noticed sort of a howling sound from the from end. No 4 wheel drive activated. The machine has about 350 km on it now and 23 engine hours. No leaks when parked. No engine over heat and no warnings on the digital display.
Any thought what it might be? and should it be something that I should worry about or is this normal. This is our first ATV so I'm never sure what to expect.
Thanks for any advice.
Leland
