CVTech clutch install question

Never having installed a new clutch, the job seemed fairly simple. I got as far as putting the new primary on, but when i went to tighten the bolt, it bottoms out before it fully tightens - i have about an 1/8" gap between the bottom of the bolt head flat and the washers which sit flush against the clutch.

A buddy says to just add a couple of washers, and that very well may be the fix, but I just want to know I'm not messing something else up before doing anything like that. Has anyone else had an issue with the stock primary bolt being too long for an aftermarket clutch?

Electrical Issue

I just got a 2000 Polaris Trail Boss 325 from my sisters husband. He pulled it out of the junk yard he works at. It cranks and runs great, but I am having issues with the electrical system. I can jump the solenoid and it will crank right up but I cant get it to start with the start button on the hand controls. The lights do not work. No head light or tail light. The oil cooler fan doesn't run. Indicator lights don't come on. I pulled the ignition switch and Im getting power to it. Can anyone tell me what might be keeping me from getting power? I replaced the shortstop. Can I replace the ignition with a toggle?

Visco-lock Help

Anybody who has the torq locker installed in an earlier Can Am Diff (2015 or earlier), have you had any problem with the Visco-Lok making grinding noise after the install or any issues with 2WD or loud clicking???
I ordered the Torq Locker yesterday and then I saw the video on disabling the Visco-Lok. I sent an email to the company and asked them the following: “I viewed your youtube video about disabling the Visco-Lok on 2015.5 & newer models if your Visco-Lok was failing. I have a 2015 Outlander and the Visco-Lok has failed, and I get a lot of grinding noise when the front wheels are engaged with one wheel spinning free and the other one with traction. When I install the torq locker doesn't it totally bypass the visco-lok? or am I going to hear that same grinding noise from the visco-lok?”
Their response was kind of disconcerting “Great questions, the answer really depends on if you have a 2015.5 and newer differential or an older one. The 2015.5 and newer differential can be split in half to remove the visco clutches, like in our video. The 2015.5 and newer diff will not make the grinding noises because you remove the clutches. In the 2015.5 and older differentials the diff case is welded together and the visco clutches are inaccessible, so you have 2 options here. One, you can add a friction modifier to your gear oil, this will make the clutches slick and eliminate the grinding noise for the most part. The best way, however, is to install a 2015.5 and newer differential case that works with your differential case. You can probably find a 2015.5 and newer used case with a bad visco or broken spider gears. If you install the TORQ Locker in your differential, as is, you will likely have 2WD issues, the locker may make loud clicking.”

silent chain tension trail boss

I have been working on my 87 trail boss 2wd. I ordered a used silent chain from ebay. My original chain was really bad and even spinning by hand in drive would cause it to pop off the spline and jam up.

This new chain doesn't do that and spins fine. But there is some deflection. What would be the most amount of deflection both ways that would be acceptable for a used chain just to get the machine working for a season or two.

awd ground issue

I'm working on a early 2004 sportsman 500, awd no longer working, could someone post the link to a good thread on this i've see to diagnose please. can't find it with search fonction.
i'm only getting about 10 volts when i test wires from pod to hub wires connections under hood, if i put positive in same connections but connect ground directly to battery instead of in plugs i getting 12.6 volts, like battery reading.
Can someone tell me where ground for hubs wires is, ? inside pod,? at battery? , at frame ground ? its a old machine and i dont want to unbolt to many nuts as everything is probably seized . wiring diagram from online manual i have is blurry.

Gun rack bar

I read somewhere several months ago, about a single bar that goes from one of the rack extender attachment points (just in front of the headlight) across to the other side of the front rack. This would be perfect to mount some gun racks to. I have searched and can not find anything that remotely matches. If I remember correctly, Cabelas had them. Anyone have any idea what I am talking about? I may have dreamt it. --this would be for a 2017 570 sportsman
