Hey y'all. I'm having a hard time getting my rear drive shaft out on my mav 16 xmr. I need to replace the seal on the shaft/diff bc it's leaking. I've done it before and don't recall this much issue.
I've removed both bolts on both ends of the driveshaft

I've got the 3 bolts on the rear diff off.
Tires off
Rear diff is pulled back all the way. What am I missing?
It's so close to coming out but I'm just short on space by a hair and I've tried muscling it.
Any tips on getting this thing off? Tilt the rear diff up? Tilt it down? It seems I had the most space when I tipped the side where th drive shaft connects upward...
I'm also trying to remove the back side before the front.... sound right? Wrong?

I am looking at purchasing a front brush guard for my 2017 850SP touring. I contacted John at ATV Guru and he said the snow plow should hook up. Has anyone use the Glacier pro with the Glacier Pro? I am trying to figure out if I should get the short brush guard or if there is room around the angled reinforcements to get the plow on the front pins without having to modify the brush guard. I am also thinking about putting the 12" Auxbeam on the light bar. Any issues with blocking the radiator? The 850 already gets warm fast.

Looking at buying a used fourwheeler. I had an 11 850 sportsman and it was a great machine. Made the mistake of selling but now I'm looking at getting into a little cheaper one to run around on. The two I'm looking at right now is a 2011 550 xp with EPS. 1700 miles. The other is an 09 850 xp no eps. I think if I get the 550 I'm going to be disappointed on power after owning the 850 even though the 550 would do everything i would need it to. The other fourhweeler being an 850 i am leaning towards right now but I had heard rumors about 09 possibly being a trouble year. Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. I haven't been able to look at either in person but both appear to be in pretty good shape with little price difference between the 2

I recently went on an awesome ATV adventure on the backcountry trails of the Madawaska Valley in Ontario, Canada.

I love ATVing in Ontario, Canada – the trails here are quiet, the volunteers are passionate and take trail maintenance seriously, and you can visit parts of the country that would otherwise be completely inaccessible.

I spend most of my time in Northern Ontario – I truly believe it is one of the most special destinations in the world. I’ve been all over the world, and although every country, continent, and city has something special about it, Northern Ontario is truly different. The difference is access to remote spaces.

While you could take the Road of Bones through Madigan in Russia, you’d be doing it at a snail’s pace and would struggle the whole way along. While in Northern Ontario, you can drive hundreds of miles into the wilderness on paved roads with electricity and cell service, and then dive into the bush on backroads and be out in time for dinner at a cozy local diner (or a Tim Horton’s).

Wonder if anyone else is having the same issue?

My machine has been great to me and given me zero problems, I have had no heat problems although yes...the exhaust does get pretty hot(so did my old 700). Nonetheless, there seems to be a two-piece cover that goes around the entire muffler, with glass(or something like that?) packing between it and the muffler itself. it seems to be held together in a few places around the muffler where the two halves of the cover are put together. it has split probably 1/3 of the way around and it has spread open about a quarter inch. I'm not having any rattles or any true problems just yet, but I imagine that it will eventually split all the way around and ill be left with a proper problem then.

Anyone else? it seems to be aluminum, so I don't think I can repair it by any means. I imagine when it breaks I might just put header wrap around the whole thing and hope it is good enough, but who knows.
Mine's out of warranty, but the dealer has taken photos of it to send to polaris to see their thoughts on it.

Hey everyone, I bought a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 and the pull start cover has a big chunk missing out of it and I'm sure water has gotten in there from the previous owner not fixing it. My starter is also hanging up for a few seconds after the engine starts so I ordered a new Bendix hoping that it would fix the starter from hanging up. I'm going to order a new cover today as well.

My question is, do I need to oil up anything inside there? Do I just remove the old cover, pop my new Bendix in, and simply bolt down the new cover?
