Morning,

Recently I bought my first 4 wheeler (ATV) an old 1999 Bombardier Traxtor that I intend to use (primarily) for plowing and some local trail rides, nothing too serious.

As I have never owned a 4 wheeler before I am fairly certain that I will be needing a lot of advice from time to time and am hopeful that the members here will be able to point me in the right direction when needed.

Looking forward to learning a lot and being involved.

Anyone going to the Llewelyn Good Intent Hose Co. ATV run in Schuylkill Co. PA? I went last year and it was a good time. The entry price keeps going up ($40 this year now) which is a bit of a turn off. I know the event benefits the volunteer fire company and at the end they have participants pull a poker hand for a chance at a quad. Overall a great time.

Sunk the Highlifter Sunday. Was riding along a lake where I'd been before and hjt a soft sspot and it rolled into 15 feet of water. Winched it out and towed it home. Drained everything, put in all new fluids, it all looks good so far but what is that airbox sealed with? Looks kinda like black RTV

How much play is acceptable on front bearings? I know the hub will move a little bit, but how much is too much?

Does anyone know what a 2002 sportsman 500 (freedom edition) with 500 miles is worth?

I have read a bunch of posts on this but nothing seems to fit just right so I figured I would just ask. My budy has a new 570 with about 50 miles on it. I went through a mud hole with my grizzly and he was following me when his quad quit. Once I pulled him out it started right up. He had the exact same issue last summer on his 2011 500 HO in the same hole. There was no water in the air box. With both quads he went though deep water and mud without it stalling and 2 other 570s went through that hole with me in May and did not die. With the 500 he entered slow and with the 570 he was going faster. He was on the throttle when the 570 died starting to come up. Any ideas as to why both quads would act the same way with this hole but not die in the other ones?

Has anybody put led bulbs on their sportsman? I want to change the stock lights out for led just want to make sure its worth it?

The dealer has a 2016 650 max xt with 26 miles on it that he bought back from a customer with hardship issues. I told him I would take it test rode it and a 2017 both seemed to sound and handle the same for the little I rode them. Now I am reading about rear differential problems, it is not too late for me to cancel. My wife and I really liked the two up feature as few manufacturers offer it the machine is beautiful we have been looking at them for a few years now. Sorry for joining and having a slightly negative first post but really can't afford to buy a machine and have to throw a lot of money at it later on, really thought it would be a good machine. We were going to pick it up this Friday were also looking at side by sides but they all seem a little on the noisy side. Please advise what do you think we should do firs impression we loved the machine had a few Hondas in the past but they don't offer a two up machine. He is giving us a six month warranty on the machine.
