Preparing for the summer…advice please.

Hello all, new member and new to trail riding atv’s. I have a 2017 sportsman 570 base model that I bought brand new for mainly hunting and working around the house that I now have about a whopping 25 miles on and getting tired of it not getting used so I’d like to join friends and head up to northern Michigan this summer. Some of the things that I’m not sure about are the tires and shocks. Will the stock tires hold up (not rock climbing or going mudding) or are they prone to easily puncture? Are the stock shocks worth a darn for trail riding or should I just get some aftermarket ones? I will be taking my wife for some two up riding but she’s only 110lbs and I’m 175. I’m looking to make this enjoyable without wishing I had this or that. I know a lot of it is personal preference but the main thing im concerned about are the stock components. I trail ride sleds and nothing sucks more than a friend that doesn’t have a good sled or maintains it properly. Any other helpful gadgets I should invest in other than a winch? Thanks in advance.

2000 Polaris sportsman 500 charging question

I have a 2000 sportsman 500 and my charging system is giving me fits. I replaced the stator and regulator last week due to it would only charge for about 15 minutes or so then stop and start again after a few min but the charging would get less the longer it ran. So I replace the stator and regulator last week and noticed it was doing same thing as the other set would do. Plus once it got warmed up good and you killed it the unit would not restart till the next day so I put the old stator on it with the new regulator and it ran great no mater how much you ran it it would restart but it still only would charge for a little while then stop and start charging again. Just like the other one. So went ahead and road it over the weekend and melted my regulator. Any ideal on what's going on with it ???

New to 4 wheeling at 51

Been bit by the bug! Bought a previously owned Sportsman 800. Excited to learn and experience as much as I can out there on the trails. What are some mods that I may want to consider as I am just starting out?

Bumper Strength Question

I will soon be taking delivery of an Outlander MAX XT 570 that will have the factory installed front and rear bumpers. Are the bumpers strong enough to use as tie down points while it is loaded on the ATV trailer?
