I bought a 2015 Sportsman 570 SP and it was stored in a shed. A few days after having it I found a smelly mouse nest in the seat. I spent 30min shaking the seat, vacuuming, and blowing compressed air through the two holes in the bottom, but it still wasn't all coming out. I decided to use a garden hose and soap. That seems to have done the trick, but now of course my seat is water logged and I need to dry it out.
I've read that for most seats like this you have to take the seat apart and squish the foam between two pieces of plywood and then put it back together. I'm hoping the foam is different on this one. I propped up the seat for a few hours to let it drain and weighed it on my shipping scale, 16lbs 1oz. I propped it against a fan overnight and it weighs 15lb 1oz.
Can someone weigh their dry seat? I'd like to know when it's fully dry. It feels pretty dry but also heavier than I thought. I don't want to take it ice fishing and have it freeze solid. I should have weighed my before adding water.
Thanks in advance.
