New to the Can Am Forums

Hey guys! My name is Megan, and I'm from southern Ontario in Canada. I currently have a 2017 Outlander 850 on 29.5x10 terminators and 14x7 MSA 21loks. My goal for joining this forum is to learn as much as I can about BBK, clutches, tuning and ecu reflashing, and suspension upgrades.

Difficult To Start At High Altitude-2013 Commander 1000

I have a 2013 Can Am Commander 1000. I live at around 2500 ft and it runs fine here. When go to higher elevations, 6000-8000+ ft, it is difficult to start and keep running. It often takes several tries to turn over. Then when it starts, the RPMs jump up and down, the throttle is not responsive, and it dies. After several tries, the throttle will begin to be slightly responsive and I am able to hold it at a higher RPM until it warms up and then it will run fine. It will continue to run fine until it sits and cools off. Then it will do the same thing all over again. It does this in both the summer and winter but it is much harder to get going when it is cold outside.

I have changed the spark plugs and fuel pump but neither have helped.

I would appreciate any help or ideas that anyone has to offer.

Thank you.

Yoshi pipe repacking

Hey guys,

So I’ve had my yoshi pipe for a little over a year now. They say to re-pack like every 10-15 hours or something ridiculous like that- i didn’t. Seems to me it’s sounding slightly different now so I’m gonna re pack it. My question is has anyone used other packing other than the yoshi branded BrP kit on their yoshi pipe?

They want like 120$ Canadian for that. Any info advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

My Barn Find Polaris

New here but have owned a few ATV’S in the past. Just sold a questionable 2005 500 Sportsman.
Came across this one yesterday. A 2014 Sportsman 400 H.O. with 28 miles and 8 hours on it. I’m beyond satisfied. Still has the nuns on the tires. Many questions to follow but thanks in advance.

2019 can am xmr 1000 questions

Hello all,
Thinking of purchasing a 2019 can am xmr 1000. Can anyone who has one give me a little insight into the changes? Does the suspension changes make a big difference in the ride? The newer fox shocks with the front sway bar and redesigned A arms. How about the ITP Cryptid tires? Does it drive and handle better than past models. I know it is not an XTp but I would like to also use it to trail ride too. Is it worth purchasing vs buying a xtp and relocating the rad and adding larger tires and a clutch kit?
Thanks
Pete

Outlander 570 Noise from rear differential

I have about 4.5 hours now on my 2018 Outlander 570. Really loving this machine, but kind of worried about a clunking noise I hear when I get on and off the throttle. Like excessive play in the drive train in the rear.

I crawled underneath to see if the driveshaft was loose, it was not. I took it out of park and move the drive shaft back and forth duplicating the sound noticing the pinion walking in and out slightly causing the sound. Is this end play in the pinion normal? Does anybody else notice this sound getting on and off the throttle sharply?

Outlander 400 engine, 2007 in a 2011??

Hello all,

I recently acquired a 2011 Outlander for dirt cheap. As it turns out the dude I got it from ran the oil dry. I have access to a 2007 engine. I am assuming since they are both Gen 1s the engine will fit. Am I correct in assuming this? I looked through the pervious posts and couldn't come up with the answer.
Thanks!
