New to me 2010 800R Outlander – Some questions

Hi all, I have just bought a new to me 2010 800R Outlander. It has some problems to it that I would like to fix. In that repect I thought it might be a good idea to start here :)

First, I found a cut wire (see picture). It is ziptied to front diff just where the ribbed rubber ventilation ting is located. Black with two black wires inside. What can that be?

Secondly, I found a green and black 3 pin connector that is not connected to anything just behind (a little higher) See picture.

Thirdly, the DSP is dissconnected due to check engine light - Check DSP warning message in the display as soon as ignition is activated. I have found out that this is a normal failure on these machines, but I would like to try to fix it. Any hints on where to start looking for errors?

Thankful for any help :)

Newbie With 2 Aces

Hello Everyone!
I just picked up two 2014 Polaris Aces in the last 2 weeks, I bought one for myself, 2014 327cc, white, has 1,259km, has the Polaris aftermarket roof, and appears to be skid plated all the way through, not sure if that’s factory or not, in the first 3 days of having it, my wife test drive it, and loved it! So we sold her 2006 Arctic Cat 500 ATV, and bought another Ace....This one is also a 2014 327cc, 354miles, full wrap kit, MTX audio stereo, roof, front/rear bush guards, winch, and LED bar mounted on the front bush bar, and is also fully skidplated....it was going to be mine, but my wife loved the stereo!, so I’m taking all the bumpers/light bar off, and they are going on mine! Lol
This is my first time owning Polaris products, and took a leap of faith, my unit before this was a 2009 HammerHead 250SS, that I heavily modified, it was a cool machine, but it was time for something different, it was a buggy, and love the buggy style riding, which is why I loved the ace! And it has a cup holder (cheers!!)
I will post pics of my units before I bought the Aces, and pics of the Aces as well...
I live in Trail, BC, West Kootenays, just west of the Rockies....some great riding here, surrounded by mountains, lots of logging road/Trail/mountain riding, not very much dune/swamp riding....lots of rock/hardpack for the most part.....
I have been reading through forums about changing the fluids on these bad boys, and see a lot of people running:
-Rotella T6 5w40 in the engine
-Good Synthetic Transmission Fluid in front differential
-Good Synthetic 5w20 Motor Oil in Trannsmission/Rear Differential.....
It looks like this is a safe bet, anyone have any downfalls to running these fluids?
Thanx guys

Need help with 850 overheating

2013 850 Touring. Bought bike used and did mods (Lift, Tires, snorkels, RAD RELOCATE). I have run the bike 30 mins to an hour 4 or 5 times. Went on ride last week, ran for about 30 mins, then it went gets hot goes into limp mode. Fan cycles 4 or 5 times before not working. So, parked and brought back. I replaced the ECT Sensor (thermistor) and the circuit breaker today. Ran it for 15 mins to get cycle again, but the fan never came on this time. Any ideals?
My radiator is clean, it gets hot because fan doesn’t come on. I unplug ECT Sensor with bike running anf fan kicks on. I have burned the system several times and raised front end 2’ to allow air to escape. I have swapped relays and know they’re good. I am thrown off because systems functions as it should for several cycles, then stops. Both hoses get hot. When it gets really hot it blows coolant back into overflow. If the thermostat itself was stuck, the fan would kick on, it just wouldn’t cool engine. What’s left to check? I did search the forum but none of the threads got past dirty radiator or thermistor. I appreciate your time in advance. Thx!

Touring backrest removal

I do 95% solo riding so I'd like to remove the backrest. Not having any luck searching this topic. Assuming this has been done, what was the best way? Making/buying a new bracket where the backrest connects to the seat? Thank you
