New to the Polaris world!

Hello!
Just upgraded my 98 Kawasaki Bayou 300 for a 2003 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4. Wow, what a difference!! Parked it in the driveway today and haven't hit the trails yet. I ride a KTM 300 and the Polaris will be for my wife and friends. I'm sure I will ride it a fair bit also - looks and feels like a ton of fun.

Any advice for a newbie Scrambler owner? Such a different machine that the Kawi. Anyway, looking forward to digging into this machine and making it like new.

Cheer!

Daniel

Deciding Between 2019 850 HL and 1000 HL

I have test driven both 2019 models and have a few questions. Both test drives were just in the parking lot of the dealership and wasnt able to get on the throttle too hard due to dealer not wanting to wear the factory nubs off the tires. Honestly far as power i couldnt really tell a difference between the two. Is the power difference more noticeable offroad in 4wd? The 1000s steering seemed way to easy almost darty just running over lighlty potholed pavement. How does the steering react at faster speeds offroad, does it seem to steer on its own over bumps? Do the power steering units have many failures?

I was planning on adding the same bumper and winch combo to the 850 that the 1000 comes with. This leaves me with a $2700 difference between the two models. Is the 7hp stronger motor and power steering worth the added cost?

2019 Renegade 83 miles. Check out my front brake pads.

My front brakes weren't working well on my second ride. I attributed it to sandy and slightly mudding conditions affecting the brakes. I've read that the oem brake pads suck so i went ahead and ordered some RaceDriven pads and installed them today. I took the front pads off and was shocked that the material is gone already. Already on metal. These oem pads must really be complete junk to be gone at 83 miles.

Top end crankcase

So I have a question fellas. I previously sunk my Polaris 850 highlighter and cracked a piston shattered it. It scared the cylinder walls pretty bad so with that being said I’m trying to find what year crankcase “top end” will work for my 2018 engine from what I’ve looked up everything seems the same for 2013 to 2018 but I want to double check before I go ordering things. Any tips or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
