18 sportsman 850 on the way!

Hey guys, grew up riding, havent had a bike of any kids in a few years. Well I just pulled the trigger on an 18' sportman 850 (no PS) base model.

Super excited, as this bike.i will use all year round, for ice fishing as well in the winter. I'm located in southern/central ontario about an hour north of T.o. paid 9,150 before hst so I couldn't pass it up. I was looking at used junk for 6k , and I figured to finance a few grand and habe a brand new unbeaten bike was the route for me.

Guys I plan to buy some nice new tires and wheels. Ky question is what's a good tires size thats not to unreal, and a tire thats good for mud but I can still ride the road where I need to.

And what are some good bang for the buck mods? Exhaust? New CDI? Thanks guys!

Want to add horn

Who makes the loudest horn? Do not want an air horn but all electric. To be mounted under the front hood. Want to use mainly when you may come up along side one of your bunch and you want them to stop. I want, need to get their attention.:eek

MAP Sensor Wiring 2008 Sportsman Touring 500 EFI

Greetings,

Easiest way to ask question: On the MAP Sensor pigtail plug, what color is in the middle?

Detailed way to ask:

Two of three wires (orange and purple) on the MAP sensor pigtail have corroded and broken off the pins of the connector. The yellow wire is in tact.

I need to know what positions to reconnect the broken wires. As viewed from the operators riding position, looking down at the sensor connector, the yellow wire is on the right.

My Clymer service manual does not indicate the color code on the pigtail connector. In fact, the wire colors in the wiring diagram are incorrect.

Service department at the Columbus, GA dealer doesn't know the answer. But they CAN help me if I purchase two new Polaris machines, 4 helmets and lifetime service warranties as well as sign over my house.

NOTE! IMPORTANT! The attached photo is upside down. AND the orange wire is only laying on the connector. The orange wire is not connected to the pin in this photo, just laying on the connector. The purple wire is not in this view.. The yellow wire is actually on the right side of the vehicle as viewed from the operators riding position looking down at the sensor. The sensor is on the intake manifold right by the fuel injector.

I've been searching for this answer for two months. Can anyone help?
