Old Timer

I am new to Can Am but not to ATV's.
Since a kid I have been taught to check the oil cold. My Outlanders owners manual says to check cold. The dealer Techs tell me to check it warm. After an 100 hr service I got back home and found the oil level an inch or more above the max mark. I took it back and complained about an over fill. The tech went out ran my machine a bit shut it down and rechecked the oil and it was at the top of the max mark. What is the straight procedure. I would think the owners manual ?

engine knocking

Hi
I have a 2013 sportsman 400 HO,lent it out to a relative for weekend,he returned it to my place,next day when I went to use it started up and engine had a loud knock coming from the right front of engine,it was not like that before I loaned it out,I suspect he drove the shit out of it in 4x4 low because he also blew out my trailer tire,Nice guy,not impressed,Any ideas what it is or how this may have occured???engine oil was up and ok.

Voltage Regulator sticking

My voltage reg doessn't come on line after start until I rev engine to about 3500 rpm and hold for a few seconds. Then stays online while driving but voltage fluctuates from 12.0-13.9.
New battery, fully charged;
Machine is : 2017 sportsman 450 HO;
< 100 hrs.
Any ideas? Seems like this is a not too uncommon problem.

Need new tires

2011 Sportsman 850, have stock Carlisle 489 tires now. Ride is very rough, any suggestions on a tire that will give a better/softer ride? Thanks.
