Trail Boss brake issue

I have a 1992 Trail Boss 250. I recently replaced the rear brake caliper with a used caliper because my bleeder screw had broken off. I bled the caliper after putting it on and had a small amount of rear pedal. After sitting for a few months, I went to ride it and had no rear pedal at all. I bled the front brakes and the rear caliper but have no pedal on the rear still. I tried adjusting the knob handle on the rear caliper but still can’t get any rear pedal. Any idea on what may be wrong? Also, after screwing in the knob, the transmission will not pull. Is anything connected to the knob that would affect the transmission? I had just ridden the four wheeler to my garage where I adjusted this knob. Now my transmission will not pull when placed into gear. Is this a coincidence or is there a connection somehow with the caliper knob adjustment?

fuel gauge/tank question

Hi everyone, just joined and I am a new owner of a 2002 sportsman 500 HO. After I bought the quad I realized, as you all know, that it has no fuel gauge:sad what I want to know is, is there an aftermarket setup that would work, maybe in a replacement gas cap, or is it possible to swap out the fuel tank with a later model, say a 2004 and replace the speedo to match? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

2005 Polaris Predator 500 Turbo question

Hello everyone, hope you all are having a great time. So, to the point, I have a 2005 Polaris Predator 500, I assume that is completely stock from performance, I don't know much of the quad other than I love it. I recently had the idea to add on a turbo to the quad, but the problem is I don't know how to. I bought this turbo long time ago, the Electric Supercharger (https://www.ebay.com/itm/5PSI-ELECTR...-/162971370182) but different, mine just didn't said "For KIA". I decided to try it out but I don't have idea how to make it work. I tried to install it where the air filter goes, or basically just trying it out. I tried that and it seams that the quad powers down. The turbo is connected to the battery, I and I already checked that the battery is not the problem. So the problem is that when I turn on the turbo directly into the air intake from the carburetor, the quad powers down, I still don't know why, but that is basically my problem. If any suggestions, please comment. Thank you.

Helmets

Hello all. New to the forum and hope I am posting this in the correct area. I think I feel like my parents when I handed them a smartphone. Anyways, I recently picked up my 850xtp and now in the market for new helmets for my wife and I. I really like the modular design but do not know if these are appropriate for “dirt”. Most “dirt” style helmets have goggles and would like to stay away from these unless your gonna tell me its gonna fog up. Plan on using in summer and winter. Do I need two different styles for the seasons? Price not a issue, much more concerned about getting it right the first time. Thoughts?

02 sportsman 500 HO parking brake lever stuck

Just bought a used sportsman 500 HO, the guy said the parking brake lever didnt move, no big deal. I test drove it, was fine. Got it home, went around the yard, used the front brake and it stayed on, cant steer when the wheels dont turn. The brake handle is pulled in and the parking brake lever wont budge. I dont want to force it with a vice grip or anything. Do you think some wd40 would loosen it up? Is there an adjustment to loosen it? Im not a mechanic, just get by with some simple knowledge.

Battery wires question

What's red, blue blue wire going to the battery all in one ring terminal?

Putting in a fuse block to try and get some stuff off the battery. I know can't put the winch on it but to many terminals there now.

Help?

Fan issues

I need help of the from the forum gods!!

I'm riding at spearhead trails in Virginia for the first time and am having issues with my fan on my 2008 Sportsman 800 HO.

Several times now the fan has quit working causing "hot" light on dash along with coolant overflow and tons of steaming.

I have replaced the relays for the fan as they seem to trip and then the fan stops then they will reset and the fan comes back on. I bypassed all of the relays, switches, etc and hard wired the fan and it runs none stop for about as long as I want it too. I even had the fan installed and manually ran fan with fused wire in conjunction with a test light on fan supply to make sure it was only running when called for and it ran great. As soon as I plug it back in and let the machine operate it the relay trips out and the fan basically short cycles on and off well before it should.

The machine seems to be fine on flat trails where I can get some speed up (20-30mph) but on hills it seems to overheat. That all makes sense but I'm just trying to give as much info as possible.

As stated above I am out riding so I have limited tools at my disposal. I thought the fan was pulling too many amps at first but that doesn't seem to be the case now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm only 2 days into a week trip and it isn't fun so far.
