My 2010 Sportsman 500 starts running hot and the cooling fan will not turn on while ridding. The HOT- Check Engine is flashing but the fan won't run. I just replaced the fan and the temp sensor switch on the radiator. The radiator has been flushed and fins completely cleaned. While running today, the system got hot but the fan never turned on. I can direct wire the fan and the fan works. What could I be missing?
Thanks,
Brad
I know this is an old topic started back in 2013 regarding all 2012 models that were having cracked frame issues around the power steering support.
I was at the dealer last week and asked about my machine if I could get the frame brace and I would install it myself since I have my machine in pieces. They said it would cost $75 for the brace. So I hesitated and inquired about the 7 year frame warranty and the recall that I thought we had on the machine. I gave them my VIN to see if there are any recalls on it and came out blank.
On my son's Renegade which is also a 2012 which we purchased 2nd hand only a few months old already had the brace installed.
Seems like none of the dealers in Canada seem to know what I'm talking about. Now I'm wondering is this only covered for machines in the USA?

Any common problem with parasitic load draining the battery on these? Sometimes battery lasts 2-3 weeks between starts (new battery), then suddenly it’ll be stone dead. This morning it was at less than 2 volts after being on the tender for 3 weeks! New tender. Parasitic test coming, once battery is back up fully charged. I’ve performed this test before with negative results, but still suspect parasitic drain intermittantly. Sticking relay or regulator??? Just checking here with anyone who might know of a common problem....???? PS: no rookie here, been a tech all my life...thirty yrs in heavy-duty and diesel trucks.
Hello everyone. New adventure for me to be on a quad. ‘05 DS650X. What a beast. Love chasin my grandkids around on it. 61 years old...BIG...6’5”....300lbs of beefcake.
I looked through the specs for the 2019 Polaris 570 X2.
There is no mention of Turf Mode, aka Versa Trac. Are there any ATVs with turf mode / lock/unlockable rear differential ? ?
2019? 2018? whatever?
Thanks!
Hey Guys,
I have a 2014, 570 EFI, that until now has been fine. I am getting an intermittent check engine light that comes at goes no matter the speed, gear range, etc. The wheeler runs fine, and there are no codes on the gauge, it does not say "check engine" like the book shows, it just goes blank. The local Polaris dealer wont talk to me about it, unless I pay him a $115 "diagnostic" fee to hook it up to computer. Anyone dealt with this issue before?
Thanks
Racing returned to Matthews Farm for the first time in fifteen years on Saturday, September 29 for round eleven of the 2018 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, an AMA National Championship. Although weather impacted the region earlier in the week with rain, the stage was set for an incredible race day that would offer those in competition a tough course that spanned nearly twelve miles. With an historic return and a great turnout, a win here was one worth fighting for.
I've got a 04 330HO. the drive clutch doesn't seem to be fully disengaging, with the clutch cover off and in neutral. at proper idle. the drive pulley and the driven pulley spins not all the time but seems to catch every now and then. and if I'm riding and just sit on a level surface it will actually move without any throttle.i did just put a new belt on and that didn't solve the issue.im going to pull the clutch today.
Hi everybody took deliver of a 2018 Defender XT-P two weeks ago and now have forty miles on her now.Love it so far.Handles good runs great and will work hard. This is my first side by side.My complaints: number one is their exstensive use of Torx fasteners a machine as spendy as this should use a better quality fastener.2:the half windshield I bought from Can Am has a very poorly engineered mounting system Iam sending it back.Sport roof is cool other than the Chinese torx fasteners which are soft metal.Bought the half doors from can am and on initial inspection seem high quality. One of my main reasons for going with can am was experience with my friends 2004 Etec first generation outboard. We beat the snot out of that engine for 13 years fishing out the Golden Gate in the ocean and up the Sac river. Not one issue! He sold last year to his boss with about 2000 hours on it.Great engine!
