new owner

Hi everybody took deliver of a 2018 Defender XT-P two weeks ago and now have forty miles on her now.Love it so far.Handles good runs great and will work hard. This is my first side by side.My complaints: number one is their exstensive use of Torx fasteners a machine as spendy as this should use a better quality fastener.2:the half windshield I bought from Can Am has a very poorly engineered mounting system Iam sending it back.Sport roof is cool other than the Chinese torx fasteners which are soft metal.Bought the half doors from can am and on initial inspection seem high quality. One of my main reasons for going with can am was experience with my friends 2004 Etec first generation outboard. We beat the snot out of that engine for 13 years fishing out the Golden Gate in the ocean and up the Sac river. Not one issue! He sold last year to his boss with about 2000 hours on it.Great engine!

Is it time to say goodbye?

Hi,
My brother got himself at 2013 a brand new trail blazer 330.
And now he gave it to me, and it has some problems ( the rear axle is bent from his crash) and I am thinking to my self is it the time to let him go because it feels q bit underpowerd to me and get another atv or even utv.
Or maybe try to rebuild it.

What is better worth the money in your opinions?

Hey

Hey, Bud from NH, 2 days ago I picked up a 2019 Outlander 570dps. Been riding for 42 years, my current road bike is a 09 street glide.

Kids helmets

So I am looking for a helmet for my daughter. She loves to ride with us but hates the noise of atvs. She's only 4. Any recommendations on sound reduction or sound reducing helmets for kids?

Any recommendations or suggestions would be appreciated.

Exhaust manifold gasket issues

What’s up guys! I have a 06 sportsman 800 on 29.5 outlaws and I can’t keep a exhaust manifold gasket intacted for more then a couple of rides. My right front tire hits the exhaust pipe when at full turn to the right. Of course this is the reason in keeps blowing, but I just wanted to get some opinions on fixing this. Are wheel spacers my only option? Thanks!

Gear Box

I posted earlier about my u-joint on the drive shaft off the gear box had a catastrophic failure. With the shaft removed, the yoke going into the gear box had a bit of play up/down & side to side so I figured that the bearing was bad and needed to be replaced. I have pulled the engine/gearbox and after examining the yoke the bolt that holds it to the shaft was backed out a little and when I tightened it up the play was totally gone. So it appears that the bearings are good after all. The question still remains if there are other issues inside the gearbox. And my main concern is the fact that when the rear shaft was off (no power going to the rear wheels) that at first I was able to put it in 6 wheel drive and the front wheels pulled me forward and in reverse but then just after a few feet it quit working.
So my question is has anybody ever had to drive their 4x4 with the rear drive shaft disconnected and using only the front drive. It would seem to me that you should be able to do it, but maybe there has to be some back pressure on the gearbox rear output shaft for the actuator to properly work. I’m really not looking forward to tearing into the gearbox, and if anybody knows anything about this, I’m all ears.

Vibration turning right?

I've got a 2018 450, when I turn right around a corner at 25mph or above, it will vibrate. I feel it more in the handlebars but I feel like it could be coming from the rear. The best way to describe it is it feels like gears are grinding, just without the noise. Left turns are fine though. Any ideas? Tia

Lifting a plow up

I have a 2015 570 Sportsman. A friend gave me an older plow set up (Mid and rear attachment) that I was able to adapt to this quad. I'm putting a Linear Actuator lift on the front rather than using the winch. The quad has a front bumper bar and I was wondering if the upper and middle mounting points above and below the radiator are strong enough to attach the actuator for the lifting point? Any mounting place lower interferes with the angle lever. I don't imagine the lift weight of the plow assembly is much over 50 lbs so stress on the mounting points should be reasonable. Any thoughts? Thanks.
