03 Sportsman 500. Got so it would creep and not shift. A inspection of the Primary clutch shows the belt is not in the grooves when at idle. Instead it is riding to the right and against the inside sheave. Not settling in the grooves makes the belt too tight so the secondary clutch keeps spinning. Do I need a rebuild or ? I know nothing about fiber bushings, brass bushings or shims. But willing to do what it takes to solve this.

I have someone local selling a set of Mega Mayhem 27-11-14 and 27-9-14 I'm wondering if these will work on the stock wheels. I'm not interested in the custom wheels and don't plan to spend the money in that area. I ride the mountains here in NC and take it hunting near the coast in the sand and swamp. I also just purchased a plow. We sometimes get snow in excess of a foot. Give me some input guys.

Anybody put 2" bar risers on their 1000 or 850 ?

Hey there fellas, need some help, I have a 400 sportsman, a 2005, I bought new, never an ounce of trouble, this evening I took it for a ride down to the woodpile, turned it off, and when I went to start it again, nothing, no speedo lit up, no lights, nothing, I checked terminals on battery, all tightened up good. I pull the rubber boots off of the selenoid and jump the 2 posts; with a screwdriver, while the key is in on position; it cranks and cranks no start. Again, it won’t do a thing with the key turned; I messed with the off/run switch but nothing. Towed it home with the Kubota and im looking for ideas where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok so I'm looking for new or should I say used possibly nerf bars and the ac ones with the heel guards are impossible to find. With that being said has anyone fit different nerf bars with heel guards on the quad?

Water is getting into clutch case through the clutch case intak and i was wonder if anyone had any ideas as to how to prevent it and i dont want a snorkel kit either. Thanks in advanced

I have a 2005 Sportsman 500 ATP with no power to the switches or gauges, unless I jump the solenoid,(with the key on)then everything light up and it will turn over. If you turn the key or kill switch off, you need to jump the solenoid again to get power going again.
Has this happened to anyone??

Has anyone ever heard of this being related to a shorted out stator?

I just rebuilt my 400L from a 97 Xplorer. It ran fine until it ran out of gas. I left it without gas for maybe 2 weeks as I'm 15 and it's a bit of a faf to go downtown with a 10L tank... anyway, I put gas in it and it will only start and run for maybe 3-4 seconds and then die. It will not do this again however. I have to wait a day, the first pull of the rope, it will fire up, then die and will not start again. I need to get this resolved as this ATV will be necessary for removing our dock a few weeks into winter. Also, if I hold the throttle down, it will rev, seem to hit a rev limiter at low rpm. After holding it here it will rev right up to its max rpm. It didn't do this when I got it and was wondering if my mixture could cause this. It seems to bog when I quickly give it throttle which tells me ots a lean condition, however it seems to run fine otherwise. Any answers or suggestions are helpful. Thanks!
