Purchased a 2015 570

Yesterday I went and bought a 2015 Polaris sportsman 570,1600 miles, has front and rear bumper with the rack bars and a 3500 lb winch with synthetic rope. Also came with a tow strap and a big lounge seat for a passenger. Really got the guy down on his price and got away with paying $3,000.

For the last year I had a sportsman 550 xp but the engine let go on me so I sold it and bought this. I saw a lot of negative comments about these wheelers online but none that actually scared me away. I’m hoping this will be a reliable machine. Only thing I have to do to it is straighten out the mounting brackets for the rear a arm on one side. Previous owner got it fetched up on something and it causes the tire to lean more than the norm.

Buying a used 2013 renegade xxc 1000

I’m 18, 5 foot 11 inches, 230 lbs, working full time and needed transportation, but also something I can have a hell of a lot of fun with. So I went down to our local marina dealer and my best choice was a 2013 renegade 1000 x xc, 2000km / 160 hours. 2” lift, aftermarket rims/tires, rad relocate / snorkel kit, Got a very good deal on it. Completely gone through by the marina and is ready to go no problems. Here’s the thing, I have very little expierence on quads, and everything I’ve read online seems to be screaming “this is absolutely not a quad for beginners”. first thing to address - I may be young and want to have fun, but I understand the position I am in, and I understand not to hop on it and just pin it, it’s going to be something I need to take slowly and get comfortable with before I decide to have some fun but I just wanted some opinions, did I make a mistake? Or will I be alright if I take it slow for a while and just get used to it? Also what are some things to look out for when buying a used renegade? It seemed in very good shape but I understand every machine has its own unique common issues

Track it up, defender style!

Howdy to everyone! Just got done with a great moose hunting season. Got my first moose with a bow up here and had some issues with the swamp I was in. For the most part I was able to get out to the hunting local after a few weeks of nice sunny warm days which really made the trip across the marsh/swamp not so nerve wracking. Generally though, its not like that every year, most years it very wet, swampy, and has free standing water.
The area I was in was a combination of muskeg, mud holes, marsh, and tall grass. Definitely paid attention to my surroundings and avoided some very mucky looking holes and such, but I kept running into issues with breaking through muskeg and digging down into some holes. Managed to only get stuck twice which required winching; once when I dived through and into a muskeg hole and when I tried to transverse the last mud hole with a whole moose in the bed. Both incidents required double anchors to winch out because I buried my sxs pretty darn good. Lucky I had a hunting buddy with a 6x6 ATV who I was able to hand winch backwards off out of the muskeg (he needed to anchor down) and the mud hole I winched right off the anchors with and winched through.

I plan on continuing to hunt this area and am considering getting some all season tracks for my HD10 to spread the weight out. I am staying away from the Apache tracks as I am told by the dealer they are only designed for snow use. That leaves me with camso and mattracks. I am curious if anyone has had experience with these tracks and how they handle in swamp, mud, and muskeg? There might also be sand use when dip netting season comes round. :grin Would also like to know how they handle when going into and out of small creeks and slow shallower rivers (definitely not trying to cross the Kenai or anything like that), and how high the tracks lift the sxs up too. Any input is appreciated!

On a final note, I definitely love my defender, she is a fun little work horse and always brings a smile to my face when I'm driving her. :th_smiliewoo:

Crankcase full of Fuel, Float is dry

I am working on a 2004 Sportsman 500 and the oil is 3 times what it should be. I am not not getting any fuel to the carb, but I am getting fuel to leak out the exhaust pipe and the oil reservoir is full of gas and oil. I do have fuel coming out of the pulse port on the fuel pump, so I am sure the diaphragm is torn. What I don't understand though, is why is there fuel in the oil and not the carb? I have verified that all 3 of the lines are going to the right location. How does fuel flow from the tank to the pump and then carb but bypass the float bowl and then into the crankcase and oil res?

Polaris Magnum 325 Driven clutch help!

I have a 2000 Polaris magnum 325 that I replaced the Primary and belt on.The primary was missing the buttons completely and the sheaves were warped. I took apart the secondary to inspect it. It is missing the buttons ordering those now. BUT, my questions is what is the stock spring set up on these? Is it 2-2? and once its together should I be able to spin the sheaves alittle before feeling the pressure of the spring? I will have other clutch questions to follow, I'm sure.

I have problems with it driving when I hit about 20 miles an hour and it idles right up like it is slipping kinda back fires like it can’t grab ahold I put a new belt on it and didn’t help
