Replaced starter but what does this tube go to?

2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I was finally able to get the starter off at lunch today. I had my ratchet pinned between the lower bolt and the clutch cover. This machine for some reason likes me to wait a day to make progress. I fought with it for 45 minutes yesterday. Today, I go out and in 5 minutes I have my ratchet back and I'm putting the new starter in. But I noticed there was a small tube (I'm assuming it's a vent to something) laying along the starter. It's small diameter and has a one-way valve or check valve on the end by the oil filter (at least that's where it was.) The other end seems to wrap around the starter and dead ends there. I didn't disconnect it (unless I bumped it off) and I don't see a section of hose dangling that it could or would attach to. I'm hoping omeone out there can tell me. I've stopped re-assembly just in case. The photo shows the valve and the position it wants to lay in. Is it coming off the bottom of the carb? I'm assuming there should be a section of tube as well.

Thanks in advance.

2005 500HO Won’t Start

I've read thru a few threads on no start conditions but haven't seen one that reflects my problem exactly.
Ran the quad a few days ago...ran great. went to start it yesterday and nothing. Acted like a dead battery. Tried to jump it..no deal. Checked voltage had 12.9 at the battery. Took the battery out and put it on an auto charger. It turned off, showing full charge after less than a minute. Re-installed the battery. Tried to pull start it but got nothing there also. Checked voltage from the battery to the relay? in line between the battery and solenoid and have power on both sides and to the solenoid. Still have no power to anything. Instruments, winch, headlights are all dead.
From what I've seen on You Tube looks kinda like an ECM issue but it got dark so couldn't check voltage there or the ignition.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Starter Sportsman

2017 Polaris Highlifter 1000. when turning the key the first time the solenoid clicks on starter but the starter does not turn over, turning the key on and off a couple of times gets it to work properly and start. Will be replacing the starter since I'm going on a long trip to make sure. This is my second sportsman with a starter issue on a newer bike (2015 Sportsman 850) anyone else have issues with starters? luckily I found a starter online that is substantially cheaper then the one made of gold by Polaris :|

Air line fitting. Fit universal hose? On board Compressor.

I have a 2011 xmr with the built in air compressor. Im pretty sure its available on some of the 2011-2017 models too.

Does anyone know if the actual hose end fitting is universal? I do not own a canam hose so have never actually used it. I wondered if I could buy any hose with a quick coupling on?

Something similar to this

Or is it a canam specific fitting so I cannot buy just any hose?

Hello everyone

My name's Cory and I own a 2018 Outlander XMR 850 and a 2017 Renegade XMR 570. I live in NC and mainly ride at ATV parks like Outback, Busco, and Cape Fear. I do all my own work on my machines. I joined this forum in hopes of adding to my limited knowledge base of rotax motors and can ams in general. Hope I can help as well.

crankshaft oil seal

I have a 2003 Traxter 500 which has developed a severe oil leak at the weep hole of the pull start housing. I'm guessing it blew an oil seal at the crankshaft but have not pulled it down yet. Has anyone had this problem before? I would like to get the parts ordered and delivered before tearing it down.

From the schematics that I have seen it is difficult to determine what the part number is so was wondering if someone could forward the part number and what gaskets are needed to reassemble and where to buy them? I have the Bombardier 2002 Shop Manual (704 100 013) but it does not have a schematic nor a procedure for replacing the oil seal. Is there a better one available some where?

Thanks in advance for your help
