Hello

I'm new to the forum; I've read several over the years but have never joined or posted to one before.
Bought a 2005 Sportsman 500 HO a few months back and have enjoyed it so we bought a new Sportsman 570 EPS for the wife last week.
Hope to learn a few new maintenance tricks and maybe help with a question or two.

2007 650 outlander engine noise

My outlander blew a timing chain so I replaced both chain, guides and 4 valves. changed oil and drove about 60 miles and lost power and bottom of motor started to knock. But yet it idles great with no engine noise and no engine light on. Any ideas?

Whining noise from beltbox

Hey guys, I've got a 2016 Maverick and I've noticed what I thought was typical clutch noise has gotten significantly louder, not sure if it is due to a problem with the clutch or what. When I removed all the plastics I pulled the intake tube for the belt box and am about 99.99% sure that's where the whine is coming from. Any thoughts???

Visco Lok failing

Well the XMR is going to cost me some mi way again lol. Me and a buddy had the day off today so we decided to go ride. Went looking for mud and found some. Deep and thick. Everytime I got completely stuck I would get a bad grinding noise. Watched some videos that my friend took of me and the grinding only happened whenever one of the front wheels stopped turning. I have power to all wheels and no issues or noises, until I bury it. If I am very easy on the throttle I can see all the wheels moving but if I hit it to hard while stuck one wheel stops spinning and I get a nasty grinding noise. I believe it's the visco because 4x4 climbing some steep hills and over obstacles I do not get any weird noises or problems. Everything runs fine with nothing strange that I noticed.

I am thinking of getting a torq locker and just taking the visco right out. Anyone have experience with these. I know a lot of people use them mudding. How are they climbing rocky hills or anything you may have to turn on while in 4x4. If you have one. How do you like it and what about it do you not like?

Flywheel nut 3083905

The question was asked but perhaps never answered - what size is the flywheel nut (part number 3083905) - for those who want to know, it is 16 x 1.5 mm RH thread with a 22 mm hex and appx. 6 mm in thickness - which means the threads on the crankshaft are also 16 x 1.5 mm also.

This nut is used on the following Polaris models:

Hello Everyone

I bought a 2003 Traxter XT 500cc 4 wheel drive new and still have it. I use it all the time around the farm. I live near Nashville, TN but have some farm land and wooded area in Pelham, TN. Hope to learn more about working on the engine, etc.

850 touring new vs used

I'm going to look at a couple machines on Thursday and just wanted to get a few opinions on value for the money. They're both 850 touring models, one is a brand new 2018 for $9200 and the other is a factory demo 2017 with 53 miles on it for $8500. I was told the only difference between the two model years is the color. The 2017 doesn't have any warranty left either. So would I just be spending $700 for six months warranty? Is the 2017 a decent buy? I would have to pay tax on either one too.
