Bought a couple of new inexpensive WANDA Sport ATV P348-10063 GNCC Race tires for the fronts on an old Polaris Express 400 2X4 I picked up last spring. They have no directional arrow on them but the tread pattern suggests to me a preferential mounting.
As said, these are front tires on a 2X4, so drive traction is not the issue but turning traction is. See the pic, ignore the ratchet strap (mounting them myself), but note the red stripe on one side as I will use that for referencing.
Unless I hear convincing opposing opinions, my intention is to mount the tires with the red striped outer knobs towards the outside on the left side and towards the inside on the right side. My opinion is based on having the full side of the "underarmor" logo-shaped knob providing bite into the road surface on turns, whereas mounting them the opposite way, puts only one corner of the knob into the lead biting edge on turns. I think this would provide better turning traction. OPINIONS??
I think this would be in line with having a VEE patterned tread pointing downward on the the leading surface of the tire. Is there any significance to the red stripe??
