Thanks to everyone ahead of time! I new to Can Ams. I just bought a nice 2012 Outlander 1000 XT camo with only 500 miles. So this weekend I went through it all servicing all the fluids and filters, greased, etc. Tonight my wife asks if I was doing something with it because the tail lights were on. I go out, the tail lights and the display both came on by themselves. I start messing with it then the display says new ecu recognized? The ignition is off this whole time! I pull the key anyways it says pass key not recognized? It seems to be turning itself on-not starting or anything just on. Anyone had any issue with this or know where to look to fix it? I know it was the first of the G2 frame and you shouldn't buy the first year of anything new but it was a good deal and I had looked for a long time. Anything else I should be aware of this year/model? First and foremost I have to figure out this thing! Thanks!
wes expedition box has no waterproofing at hinge, anyone fixed that?
wes expedition box has no waterproofing at hinge, anyone fixed that?
Just bought that box, and seriously, it's ridiculous, there is no waterproofing at the hinge, meaning that there is a hole in the box, like 1 inch wide, and there is a plastic cylinder popped in to "hinge" the box.
That has to be the most BS non waterproof design I have ever seen on a cargo box.
Does anyone have that box, and how did you fix it?
I'm thinking about using a plastic toilet bolt cap caulked with silicon inside the box, but it's slightly too short, maybe I could make it longer with some plastic tubing or something....
Other than that (and the horrible top waterproofing, that I'll fix with decent weather striping....), the box is nice, fits well, install well, reasonable size, so I would like to keep it, if I can make it waterproof.
Ideas?

Stator ground wire placement ?
Hello
I am putting together someone else’s project. I am confused where the stator ground wire goes. I would think it would just attach to the spark trigger but the hole on the ground wire is not big enough?

Choke not working properly
I have a 2001 Polaris sportsman 500 H.O. It has less that 3000 km on the bike.
My problem is my choke will kill my bike if it’s the first start or if the bike is warmed up. Also in the winter it will kill the bike.
I can only pull the choke out about a 1/4 for about 2 seconds then bring it to 1/8 for about a second and then have to close it other wise it will kill the bike. The bike will start and warm up without the choke even in the winter. Never had a bike that didn’t need the choke and the choke would actually kill it.

Tuner mounting ideas
Since it seems like almost every can am here has a tuner added to it, where did you put it? How did you mount it? Your suggestions are appreciated thanks. Running an 850 outlander xmr for reference.
Problem with high gear?
I’ve been having a problem with High gear on 2013 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. In high gear, I get to about 5000 rpms and I’m only going about 30-35 mph where as in recent I’ve been going 50 mph. There is a little play in the inline shifter, my dad had borrowed my quad and snapped the linage between the shifter and the shifter stick. I checked the belt and clutch and they look fine to me. Any ideas?
Issue with Fuel regulator on 570 sportsman
I have a 2016 polaris 570 that I bought to drive when I go to Texas. I ride is some around the house however I dont have the wide open spaces I have in Texas. My issue is that the Fuel Regulator has went out on me TWICE, or both times I took it to Texas. The first time it drove 20 miles before stranding me in the desert alone with someone elses wife. We were making a run to town to get supplies. The next trip to Texas was this month and I was driving carefully after the first experience, I decided to stay within a mile of my Cabin. sure enough in about 1.5 miles of driving it died on me. I had to walk home. Both times I have taken it to Texas it died on me. I have not had the opportunity to really break the thing in because both times I intended to drive the crap out of it, It broke on me. Then when I get home I spend a month taking it to the shop, waiting to get it fixed and then go back again to pick it up. So this thing has 23 hours on it and about 185 miles.
The dealer keeps telling me its all my fault. I really dont understand that logic. I have a $100 generator I bought from a cheap Chinese harbor freight that I have taken to Texas 3 times. it uses the same gas, gets used like 100 hours each trip and it just keeps running. my brand new Polaris takes one look at Texas and pukes and leaves me stranded. I am about at my wits end here. the dealer keeps telling me my fault, i need to drive it more. Yeah, I am going to drive this thing when I dont trust it. Tell me I am nuts to think a Polaris that is only 23 hours used can go through 2 regulators. I dont care how bad the gas is or how often I drive it , thats just not right. obviously my dealer thinks I am supposed to drive 50 miles a week or more. I dont find that reasonable at all and I dont see the logic either.
Can someone here help me out with this issue. The Dealer wants to replace the entire tank each time it breaks and although Polaris picked up the tab both times, i dont look forward to the day they try to charge me $800 for a new tank and fuel system. Apparently the touring model they wont sell you just the fuel regulator, you have to buy the entire gas tank and fuel pump and all for $800. sounds like a crock to me.
Hoping some sharp experienced polaris user can help me.

’05 sportsman 500efi backfire through intake
Ok so wifes grandfather was letting his younger grands ride his sportsman 500. They came riding into the yard, and cut it off. It would never start back up. Just backfire through the carb.
I offered to try my hand at repairing it. I found the timing was way off, and the crank sprocket had been eaten up a bit. So replaced crank sprocket, timing chain, rebuilt the tensioner. Put it in time according to the service manual.
But, it still won't crank and simply backfires out of the intake. I really hope it's not bent valves or a worn cam lobe, but is there anything I could be missing? I never tore it down and pulled the top end, was hoping it wouldn't come to that.
