Hi does anybody know for sure what years Polaris Sportsman 500 I can interchange my 2009 Sportsman 500 high output carb model transmission with?

My first atv was bought new in 1987, a Suzuki LT125. Currently I am running a 2005 Sportsman 500. The SxS bug has bitten me recently and I have been watching a lot of videos on YouTube. One thing that started bothering me the more I watched is the trail destruction on many of the videos. The newer larger machines on any kind of soft ground just rips up deep ruts in one go. SxS's seem to create more destruction than almost any ATV can do. Some of what causes that is they take the SxS in places an ATV would never dare attempt to ride. They also have to take multiple attempts to get through, and when they do, they are not easy on the loud pedal when they do.

Many people in those videos I am sure don't ride on property they own. Many also don't go to off road parks like Hatfield&McCoy where they maintain the property and can clean up the roads on a yearly basis. Does that destruction of trails and property not concern anyone else.

So suddenly my fuse for the read taillights keep blowing. What could be causing this?

Does anyone have a part number for the stock lug nuts for the plain black steel rims? I am going to get a new set of tires next month and my old ones look pretty bad.

Hey people. My name is Terry and I drive a 2012 Commander 1000 side by side. I just started to have this problem. Right after the machine starts, the alternator light comes on for a brief second, then goes out. When I turn my key back for the lights to come on. They don't and my alternator light comes back on and I get the message, check engine. The only thing that I have done so far was check the battery. It's fine. I was wondering if there is any modules that i should be looking for or any suggestions before I rip the hell out of it. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've got a 2004 Polaris 90 I got cheap and am trying to rehabilitate for my kids. When I first got it, it would only run with the choke on. I pulled the spark plug which was black but in surprisingly good shape. The air filter was also in pretty good shape. Pulled the carb and it looks brand new. Cleaned it out anyway, made sure the jets were clear, etc., Put on a new fuel line between the petcock and tank, and the gas seems to flow freely.

Put everything back together, kicked it over, and it started right up without the choke on. Started to give it gas and it died immediately. Started it again and it idled ok, but died when I tried to give it gas.

Adjusted the air screw (so many times I forget which setting I was on) and got it to where the engine would idle, and I could apply gas and take off. Under heavy throttle it was bogging down (too lean or too rich I can't tell), but when I brought it back to idle it would die.

Tried adjusting the throttle slide stop screw and nothing really happened, except once or twice when a slight adjustment coincided with the engine dying.

Starting to chase my tail here. I'd really appreciate any insight as would my kids!

I put snorkels on my 2008 can am renegade 800, and I went in some pretty deep water for awhile, got the belt wet but it seemed fine. Bit then I turned it off and when I went to go turn it back on all hell broke loose... It just started moving without touching the trottle, and then just started bogging. I dried the belt out and it still did this, after it dried up it was fine... Just wondering what got wet, I already dielectric greased alot of the plugs. Any ideas?

Hey guys new here. Just wondering if there is anything I can do to help with the leaking rear diff seals. I owned a 2010 rene xxc loved the bike had no issues but the real diff seals would have to be changed every 3 or 4 drives. I have sold the rene and picked up a 2015 xmr 800. Like the bike but having the same issue cant keep it from leaking diff seals the shaft input seal.

I only get 4 drives or so and they are leaking again!! I ride mostly ride hard packed and no mud. Getting tired of this nothing to do with the cost but its the down time when i want to use the bike shes dripping on my garage floor. I really dont want to have to go back to a kingquad or yamaha. Is there any way to fix this issue?

i have a magnum 500 yr 2002, took it to be serviced and one of the things was when starting it clicks and tries to turn over. it hits top but the automatic de compression isn't opening to allow turn-over. tech said it was fine, it worked for about a wk and now back to same issue. any ideas out there??

So I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos on ATV'n and ran into this one product called a Tiger Tail. Does anyone have one of these things? If so, do they work that great? If I'm not doing a lot of mud bogging, is it really necessary to have one or is just one of those 'nice to have' type of mod?
