I have a 1996 Polaris Sportsman 500 that keeps burning out headlights checked the voltage regulator and it shows 14 volts. Could the regulator be spiking voltage and burning them out or is their other issue that can cause the same problems The headlight work for a short while then get real bright and then go out

Hi all, been browsing around here for awhile. Got a new to me 95 scrammy 400 and I’m having a low end problem. When I punch the gas it Boggs, gets up to about 5mph and takes off like a bat out of hell. I can’t go through mud because if I sink and try to gun the gas my back tires won’t even spin. I can take the clutch cover off and push on the secondary while I’m driving and actually stop it with my hand. I ordered new secondary buttons and a new belt which seems to be worn. I’ve cleaned the carb numerous times making sure to take extra care of the pilot jet. I disconnected the black wire on my rev limiter and replaced the air filter. Not sure if the buttons and belt will take care of this? Thanks for the reply’s

I just picked up a 2008 Sportsman Classic 800 off good ole Facebook. It’s definitely a project, the seller said he was out riding with the guys and he heard a large pop. The four wheeler runs just fine but will not move at all. I’m guessing it’s a belt but I just picked it up less than an hour ago and it’s raining and dark here. Just wanted to say hello. There is quite a few other things that are cosmetic going on with it but all of that will come out in the wash.

Where do you guys buy batteries from? This has been sitting for about six months and the battery is showing bad.

I need to chase the threads on the top of my strut shafts. Does anyone know right off hand what size and pitch the strut shaft threads are so I by a die Thanks.

Hi Folks, I need some help. was driving my 2014 Can-Am side by side commander max 1000 when it started losing power until it stalled and have not been able to get it to start since. I have taken most of it apart to see everything, i've checked all fuses all connections fuel is going to the injectors but i don't seem to have any spark. i was wondering if it could be one of the ignition modules. Any ideas???

Hey guy im new here... i got a 98 sportsman 500 cheap.. well im finding out why... so heres my problem.. it all started when i first got it it will not exceed 30 mph! So i though it was the belt i replaced that didnt fix it then i bought a brand new carb. It fixed it!! It would fly 65 mph and would accelerate fast! After my first 60 mph ride about a quarter mile i got home and smelt antifreeze well the radiator was empty... so i added more and strted it up it ran good then shut it off... tried to start ot again... and antifreeze was pouring out of the exhaust! So i replaced the head gasket started it up it idles great but it right back to only going 30 mph!! I took it to the shop to fix the adjusted the valves and replaced the spark plug... it still wont go over 30 mph!! I checked the cam its perfect! Its got new gas new fuel filter new carb... Help any ideas?!?!

I am pretty new to repair and maintenance, but trying to learn. I recently inherited a 2007 Hawkeye 300 ATV and have changed out all the fluids, battery, filters, etc.

I drained the Demand Drive fluid and black goopy fluid dripped out. So I put in some fresh fluid until it was up to the bottom thread of the fill plug on the gearcase. Actually it overlowed a little, so I let it drip out and cleaned it all up. Everything seemed great, but the next day I started finding drips and then puddles. It appears to be coming out of the joint (see pictures). I am not sure on all the terminology of these parts but any help in diagnosing this problem is greatly appreciated!!

So I was just about to pull the trigger on 2018 Max XTP 850 when I noticed BRP REDUCED MSRPs on 2019 650 Outlanders by $400 and $750 on 850s. There was no mention of 1000 price reductions. Does anyone know if BRP will reduce rebates on 2019s later in the year to offset the MSRP price reductions, or will they stay the same? I’m torn now whether to get an 18 or 19 model. I currently have a 650 Max XT, so there’s not a major rush for me to purchase other than I like the triple black color scheme better than the black/yellow scheme on the 2019.

I have stripped my engine oil plug hole how can I fix it myself?
