whats the oil life of a unopened container
I was cleaning out my garage today and found 2 brand new quarts of polaris fluid in the process today. 1 quart of agl and the other was a quart of synthetic 0w40 oil. These may be up to 13 years old due to my oldest 4 wheeler is a 2003. Can any own tell me if they think they would still be usable or should i get rid of them and purchase new ones? Any input would be greatly appreciated .
Maverick engine in atv?
Im getting a 2015 maverick engine from a guy that bought a new engine for his. I thought it would be a cool project to take this engine and put in a spare atv frame i have laying around. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make it work or if its even possible to make work without having the transmission.
Sportsman 570 belt swap by hand
Hey all. The Sportsman 570 base models come with a secondary clutch that hasn no threaded hole or pry hole to release the clutch spring. I Googled and searched Youtube, but only found info on how to remove the primary clutch in order to swap the drive belt. So, I'm sharing my video of how to muscle it off and on without tools. No need to go spend a bunch of money on the special clutch tool just to do the belt. And, it's nice to know that if I ever need to change it in the field, it's do-able. Hope this helps future rookie belt swappers.
(I also posted this in the general maint thread by accident.)

brake flaring
I went to install a new rear caliper on my 2003 sportsman 500 and the brass fitting is stripped and cracked.
I'm planning on cutting the brake line at the bottom, getting the stripped fitting off and then installing a new fitting for the line.
Does anyone know the diameter of the copper brake line that goes to the caliper.
Also, what type of flare is on there. is it a double flare, metric bubble flare?
I'll have to order a brake flaring kit before I do any of this. Does anyone have one they
would recommend (on the cheaper side).
