96 Xplorer (New to me)

Good morning I just purchased a 1996 Xplorer 400 with about 500 miles on it. Electric start doesn’t work but pull start does, battery looks ancient. Throttle cable looks to get loose at certain times also. I am looking to do a complete change of all the fluids before I start riding it. I have downloaded the Polaris service manual but it is very vague in terms of the finding the drain and fill plugs. I will attach some pics of my machine in the hopes you all could steer me in the right direction. I appreciate the help.

I believe I have found the transmission and the counter balance fills but cannot find the oil, transmission, gear or counter balance drain bolts.

Still won’t start. Help please!

Hi all!

If you saw my previous thread about getting gas out of the tank, here's the update on my 2009 Polaris Sportsman 500.

I replaced the fuel pump with a working one. There is pressure on the lines because I got a faceful of gasoline when I removed the hose to check.
I also got a new spark plug and fuel filter.

Engine turns over but won't fire.

I poured a little gas into the spark plug hole. It ALMOST fired.

I checked for fuel where the line goes into the engine right above the spark plug. Fuel squirted out.

Now I'm stuck. I don't know what else to do.

Do you guys think the port where the fuel goes into the engine towards the spark plug is clogged? It seems to me the gas is not reaching the plug. If so, is there a way to clean it?

Any other possibilities it won't start?

Bigger tire on Rene 1000 Xxc?

The stock Holeshots already have punctures after 20hrs riding and I’m looking at getting Blackwater Evo’s. I only ride logging roads and trails. Do you lose a lot of top end when switching to a 28” tire?

Installed new stereo and machine stalled while riding.

Just installed a new 450 watt stereo on my 2015 outlander 1000. I was riding it for about 20 minutes and when I pulled up to an intersection the machine just shut off. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue. Have the stereo wired to battery as the instructions said to. Machine immediately started up right after. Any tips or changes people have done to help this would be greatly appreciated.

Inexpensive Front Axles for a 1-2″ Lift

Looking for some ideas on front axles that wont break the bank and will handle a mild lift. I'm not really mudding this machine, mostly want the extra clearance for all the rocks we get around here. I know Gorilla and Highlifter will take much higher axle angles than stock but not looking to spend that much $ at the moment.

How many with no diff problems 2016 Outlander 850 Max

I'm curious on how many of you guys have had no issues with their diffs.
I've been on lots of forums (Ford, VWs, Subaru) before buying all of those products in multiple qties over the past 38 years. If it were from the different forums, I wouldn't have bought any of those.

Now back to ATVs, my Outlander (2016 Max 850 Xt) is my first and I have seen many posts about the diffs.

Is there someone out there that didn't get any issues so far ?
Mine is fine so far !
Any tricks/advise ?

Thanks !
