2008 Can-Am Outlander Max 800 Xt Shocks
Hey everyone,
I recently purchased this quad and I am getting into replacing the old worn out parts. So far I have changed all the fluids and put some 27" Bear Claw HTRs on it with 1" spacers.
The shocks are the next part that will need to be replaced. I am not looking into lifting it, although it will need to maintain enough clearance for the 1 inch taller tires.
So far I am looking at the Griffin Performance shocks found here Web Store.
I spoke to Griffin Performance and they said I would need to replace the A arms and the Upper Shock Mounts with the stock Renegade parts.
I believe these would be the correct Parts form 2008 Renegade, please correct me if I am wrong.
RH A Arm: 706200764
LH A Arm: 706200763
LH Upper bracket: 706201039
RH Upper bracket: 706200736
Would it be a better idea to look into high clearance or aftermarket A arms since I would be replacing them anyway?
Does anyone have any other suggestions that would not require new a arms and brackets?
Is this upgrade even worth it? should I just replace with stock shocks?
I would love to get your opinion on going this route or your suggestions of other options.

turf/road tires
Howdy all hopefully an easy question I purchased my father a '99 sportsman 500 with a plow to make his life easier during the winter and it did that. However now he is wanting to drive it around the yard and around the neighborhood (it is registered to do so). anyway i don't want to go through tires like water which it would and i did do a search but did not come up with anything. Can anyone suggest turf/road tires that won't tear up his lawn and also not just eat through a set of tires during the summer?
thanks
thanks
New Member here
Hi all. I am looking at buying a 2017 Can-Am outlander 450 for the wife. It will join the 2014 Honda Rancher 420 in the garage now. I have read a lot of info about it. What are your opinion?
I do the maintenance myself as i am pretty handy. I did a frame off restoration of my '69 camaro.
What problems do I need to look out for and what are the pros and cons of this machine? Also, if I decide to go with it, should I get the BPS option? Are there other options I should consider?
thanks all.

Ordered!! 2018 Renegade 1000XXC Triple Black
Today I ordered my new machine. 2018 Renegade 1000XXC Triple Black. Ordered the following for it. Warn 3500-S Winch, Grille Guard, full composite skids, radiator protector, snorkel, yoshi exhaust, twinair filter, LINQ rear rack and cargo box, heated hand rips, LED lights and PCV. The book at the dealer doesn't show one available for the 2018's but they are available for the 2016-2017 and the dealer said nothing has changed in 2018. Does anyone know if that's right? Also can the PCV be used out of there box or does it need to be dialed in? Never used one.
Later this spring I will be ordering a CVTech primary and probably some 26" Maxis bighorn 2.0's. The hole shots will have to do for now. They seem like good tires.

Dynojet Power Vision CX vs rvs ecu
RVS has a tune option with the dynojet power vision I was wondering if it would be easier to get that instead of having them modify your ecu that way you have the option of putting your atv back to stock if needed. Il call them when I get a chance figured id ask u guys if anyone tried it u just connect it to your diagnostics port and load a tune they provide or something like that. They give u same stage option as the ecu did
Sportsman 570 Parts for sale
I'm moving on from the Sportsman 570 so I have a bunch of parts that I'll be removing and selling.
All these items will be ready to ship next week, with the exception of the ECU and Polaris Ogio lock and ride back. Bag would be a pain to try to box and ship so I'd prefer local sale only.
Elka Stage 1 rear shock. Set up from Elka for a 175 pound rider with approximately 20-30 pounds of additional gear. I installed these last May and they only have about 350-400 easy riding trail miles on them. They are in like new condition. These made a huge improvement in trail comfort, yet added a lot of stability in rougher sections of trails. I'll be buying a new set for my new quad, unfortunately these won't fit or I'd keep them.
Price is $425 OBO shipped in original box.
QSC Clutch kit. Set up for stock size tires (25-26 inch) Comes with everything you normally get-primary spring, secondary spring, weights, and all 3 clutch engagement shims. $175 OBO shipped.
R2C air filter. Filter has been washed and air dried and looks brand new. $45 shipped.
GSE air filter. It's been washed, but not re-oiled. Fabric is stained light red from the K&N oil that was applied to it. $25 shipped
Custom homemade LED headlights. These have correct wiring harness installed to make them plug and play. The frame is black 1/4" marine grade HDPE and the lights are a 30 degree flood pattern-I think they're HELLA brand. I'll also throw in the mounting screws and small spacers I used to level them in the opening. $85 shipped.
KFI winch mount. $40 shipped
Polaris Ogio lock and ride bag. Bag is in great shape with the exception of a couple small scuffs from there lock and ride mechanisms rubbing on the fabric $125. Local pick up. I'll drive a short distance to meet.
RVS Performance tuned ECU. ECU has a stage 1.5 tune. Price is $250 plus swap for your stock ECU. This gets tricky. I spoke to Ryan and he said 2015 to a 2015 is a direct swap but any other year won't work as easy. If someone has a value line 15 without EPS and around 110-115 engine hours on it, mine has 113.9. Engine hours are stored on the ECU and miles are on the odometer. If it doesn't work, it'll go with the quad on trade in. Again, I'll drive a short distance to do the swap (30-40 miles) but it has to be before 03March. I'm not comfortable doing this via mail.
Attached are photos of the air filters, the lock and ride bag, and the LED headlights pods.
I'll update with pics of the clutch kit, shocks, and winch mount once they're removed.
Any questions please let me know.
Thanks
JJ
