Torque or Halo?

Hello all. New to this forum and this is my first post. I have a 2017 Outlander XT 850 and I want to know #1 can a halo locker be installed on the Outlander? #2 which is better in your opinion, the Torque locker or the Halo locker? I'm mainly concerned about use in snow and ice for ice fishing, which would be better or would a full locker just be overkill? I've read a lot of threads on the site but haven't found one that addresses this. Maybe I just haven't gone back far enough on any of the threads yet.

2000 Sportsman 500 Problems

Hi everyone, first post here. I picked up my first polaris today and have a few issues to get straightened out. The main problem is a coolant leak from below the water pump. It seems to be coming from the weep hole so I assume its the mechanical seal. Does anyone have any advice on tackling this myself? The one way bearing is also starting to go out. Hard shifts and will move a little at idle when in reverse. I found the bearing but it seems like it would be cheaper and easier to buy the entire primary clutch. Is this the correct part or will I need to just buy the bearing?https://www.ebay.com/i/263437268948?chn=ps Thanks in advance for the help!

2002 polaris Trail Boss 325

I have recently purchased a used 2002 polaris trail boss 324 2x4 . The circuit breaker under the seat had blown (20amp) and my son replaced it with a 30amp. he must have fried something because now there is no power to the key Ignition and wont start with the key. also the winch will not work but it still has lights and will run with a pull start. any suggestions on where to start ? thank you all for your help

Anyone regret going to a Max

Bought a 570 base model outty in Fall and really like it. But now after riding it and kids liking it I'm really thinking about going to same machine but in a max. If I did switch I ride trails, some technical nothing crazy, but tight stuff. Would be used as a 1up 75% of the time. That being said anyone ever go to max and wasn't happy, love to hear any input. Thanks

Sure Power Module – Non EFI

Brand new Sure Power module part #4011803. Had problems with my quad and the great mechanics put it on, only to fine out that was not the problem and they would not let me return it. Ended up just trading the quad for a newer one. I know it fits 2004-2006 Sportsman's that are 400cc & 500cc but may definitely fit others. $125.00 OBO

Another no start

2008 500 on a 6x6. I'm suspecting the gas got some condensation.
I put a fresh charge on the battery.

Is it ok to spray some starting fluid in the intake if I take off the air filter?
I'm a complete noob here on these machines. I don't even know how to take off the cowling...:|

Need some input and info on 570 or 800

Hello all, Im looking for some input and good discussion on my decision on buying my next atv. Im looking at either trying to get a late model Sportsman 800 or a 2018 base model 570. There are a few nice low miles 800 popping up from time to time, they are around $5500 or so. I know about the 800, its fairly reliable when not abused. Suppose to be very torquey, even more than the 850 down low, its got struts not to big a deal but wish it was shocks up front. The 570's are torquey as well for a single and get good mpg. The quad will be rode on the sporty side on trails in Northern Michigan, and in the snow. Kind of at a wall on which one I should look to get. If I got the 800 Id clutch it and maybe different tires. The 570 I think Id get an RVS reflash and maybe clutching. Whats everone rhink about it, anyone out there have or had both to compare both machines?

2004 Sportsman 700 Low Fuel

I recently purchased a used 2004 Sportsman 700 (Early). I am wondering if the early model has a low fuel alert? I thought the speedometer light would flash when it was low but it didn't and I ran out of gas. Checking to see if this model has something and if it does how would I fix it. Trying to get this thing in top shape!!

Outlander 400 hard to pull over, doesn’t start.

I picked up an 04 outlander 400 as a project for pretty cheap. It felt locked up, but i pulled spark plug out and i could pull it. Adjusted the valves and put it together again and now I can pull it over but sometimes it randomly will lock up like its under a lot of compression and I have to pull again then it will be free. And regardless… its still not easy to pull, definitely takes a lot of muscle, I tried the electric start, but of course, that doesn't work, so I jumped the solenoid, and that wouldn't really even turn it over. Sprayed some starting fluid in and wouldn't fire. I can't really test compression and if I do i know it'll clearly be high, but is this common with these motors?

The machines is a piece of work, both fuel lines coming from the tank will need replaced along with the seals at the tank itself.. so I can't really get any fuel to the carb right now without gravity feeding it, thats why i tried starting fluid, because I already had the air box off anyway. Just wondering your guys opinions. thanks in advance!
