What Year is my TrailBoss 350?

I was given a 90s era trailboss 350 from a family member who had no use or want for it. It has grey plastics and a red seat and that’s really the only way to describe it because half of it is in a box currently. He was in the middle of fixing it up and just gave up. The majority of the front end is completely apart but it does run. Me and a buddy the other day hot wired it (the ignition won’t budge with the key i was given and will end up needing a new one) and got it to run off of starter fluid and the pull start. Ive looked high and low for a vin# and can’t seem to find one anywhere. We think it’s somewhere between a 91 and 93 because the radiator has a year on it but i can’t think of it off the top of my head. I’ll post a picture of it in the later on today to see if any of you guys here know what year it could be or where i could possibly find a vin#. thank you.

Need help

I recently bought a 2015 renegade xxc 1000 . I was riding at atv park and hit a rut sideways . The front left wheel has a lot of negative camber now. What most likely bent ?

2011 800 max shutting down Intermittently

A few months ago I was out for a ride and the bike shut down while I was trail riding at approx 30mph. This happened several times and I initially put it down to a ignition switch issue and power dropping out(I had to move key from lights to on while starting it at times). I replaced the switch and all had been going well until a few days ago. Riding along and then all of a sudden engine just stopped. I’m know thinking it could be the kill switch playing up but have also been told the fuel pump can do this. On most occasions if I cycle the key it will start almost instantly but not always. Any ideas before I go replacing parts unnecessarily? Have thought about putting a pressure gauge on the fuel but since it’s so intermittent it might not show anything).

New guy from MN

Hey everyone, first time (hopeful) can am owner. Currently own a ‘16 sportsman 570. Looking for something a little more capable and reliable. I’ve been eyeing up the 650 outlander xmr. Now I can get an ‘18 for a pretty decent price, somewhere around 9200, or I could get a ‘19 (dealer said somewhere just shy of 10k). Is the new suspension and arched a arms worth the extra 5-700? Is there any other changes I’m missing? Or do I ditch both of those and go for an 850? (Unofficial quote for a ‘19 was around 11k). Mostly do a lot of trail riding and like to hit mud when I can. I’m not a hard core bogger but still like to run some deep stuff when I have the opportunity. Thought about getting an outlander dps but there’s a lot on the xmr that I would put on it anyway and I figured it would probably be more expensive to build than buy the xmr package. Thanks in advance!

Hey-now from Pittsburgh…

Hey Folks,

New to the forum and to can am. We recently inherited a small chinese quad for my 7 yr old son and hey, I couldn't just let him go wandering off on the trails on his own now could I !? :devil

So after much research and looking at quite a few used quads, I found a relatively low mileage/hr 2010 Outlander Max locally and pulled the trigger on it. To be honest, after test riding the first Outlander I looked at I quit looking at other make/models and targeted this specific bike. I liked it that much compared to others in it's class and price range. I'm pretty happy with it so far. Mainly interested in chasing my son on trails, but I see a plow in my future as well. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from the forum.

Thanks!

Diff Seal and Bearing Clip?

I have a 2008 Polaris 300 4x4. I posted a couple of days ago about possible front bearings being bad so now I'm replacing them. First question-- the clip holding the bearings in is rusted on both wheels, besides just soaking them is their any trick to help getting them loose? I have the tool that you use to squeeze them but no dice. Second question-- The seal that goes in the front diff where the half shaft goes in is leaking a tiny bit. Since I'm changing the wheel bearings I popped off the half axle and removed the seal. The problem is the previous owner had removed the shaft and must have had trouble because the area where the seal goes is not good. I smoothed out the seal area but was wondering if people ever put some gasket sealant around the seal before its installed to help it seal? Thanks in advance

Starter solenoid problems

I purchased a 2017 Sportsman 450 HO last Sept. The original battery died over the winter. I got a new battery. It wouldn't turn the engine over at all. No click even. The built in ammeter on the bike showed a charge of 11.7 V on this new battery, as it did on the original battery. The parts dept. at the dlr.ship showed a charge of 12.8V. Guy suggested that the solenoid is bad. Happens a lot he says. Is this a commonplace failure on a Polaris?? Also is it normal to have an ammeter that is inaccurate??

Radial street tires

I'd like to get some 14" non-aggressive radial street tires for my '18 Outlander Max. My rig is outfitted legal for street use on 45 mph roads here in Idaho. I want something that rides smoother and quieter. Any suggestions or links are appreciated.
Thx-Bob

425 Magnum Starter Issues

The electric start on this machine has never worked. Figured it probably needed a new starter so got one off e-bay. Put it in and also charged the battery. Nothing happens at all when you hit the electric start button. No clicks, hums, nothing.

None of the 'dash' lights work either. Neutral light does not come on no matter how much you wiggle the shifter lever around, etc.

If the neutral light does not come on does the machine sense that and shut down power to the electric start to prevent it taking off if it was in gear or does it not work like that?

The AWD light won't come on either so not sure if that is related to this problem.

Is there a list of things I can do to test what the problem is? I have access to basic electrical testers, lights, etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
