Rear Diff

Hello Guys,

Just bought a new 2018 XMR Outlander. Had it out 2 times, on 3rd time out the rear diff went.

It's been at two dealers now trying to get it covered and BRP has now came back to both dealers saying they will cover the cost of the new diff but not labor.

Is this common practice with BRP? The unit only has less than 200kms, have yet to even really enjoy it as it's still in break in. Pretty dissapointed to say the least. Also no answer on what could of caused it. One of the dealers thinks the rear drive shaft isn't perfectly straight which would definitely of caused the issue.

Beeping sound and error message when putting in gear – Sportsman 570 (2017)

Hello,

I recently tilted over to the right with my Sportsman 570 (2017) while driving very slowly in reverse with 4x4. I then shut of the engine, pushed it over, set it to park and started it.

When I then put it in low gear, a beeping sound was made for about 10 seconds and the display was showing the message "Shift to park". The beeping and error message disappeared after about 10 seconds and all was fine. It still drove like a dream. It only happens once after each start; if I first went through the 10 seconds of beeping and error message, I won't get it again until I stop and start the ATV.

The same thing happens when shifting to any gear, using AWD and RWD, but it still runs like a dream and the gear shifter is fine as ever.

What can this be? Nothing seems to be wrong.

No hole cover? 2018 Polaris Sportsman 850 Touring SP

Hi All!

Just got the 2018 Polaris Sportsman 850 Touring SP and there is nothing to cover the hole if I don't want the seat back there. I'm not sure if the dealer forgot to give it to me or if this is just common place. Anyone have this experience? I would ask the dealer but of course it is closed today.

Thank you~!

I replaced my primary drive belt last year with a Polaris one and my clutch is slipping this year. I took my primary clutch cover off and my primary clutch is slipping with the belt. I’m not sure if my clutch needs re-built or if the belt is already stretched after only a year.

XP 1000 Steep climbs, NEWBIE, tips Please.

Okay I did it but it was nerve wracking, I Really needed to call someone to ask how I should attack to hill climbs. I know it was dangerous doing this alone. Please post some tips on how you tackle hill climbs. I made a video of my Dangerous day, fast forward to about 8 minute mark to get to the riding. There are quite a few climbs.
Thanks a bunch.

Setting up my new 40’x30′ building?

Lived on acreage years ago, then moved in the city. Wife and I have a contract on a nice house / acreage with a wonderful 40'x30' steel building. It's on 3 acres. We close in August...can't wait to move in!

Building is tall, I think 16', concrete floor throughout, but has no power. I've already talked to electricians and will be running 220 out there.

I am absolutely STOKED! Will be used to store a few toys (two Polaris ATV's), my 1972 Chevy K-20 4x4, lawn mower(s), and my hunting stuff (decoys, layout blinds, tree stands, etc.), two kayaks, did I mention decoys??? : ) I will have room to store my fishing boat out back of the building. It seems HUGE right now, but I know it will fill up fast with all my stuff.

Here is what I'm bringing from current house:
- 220v 60 gallon air compressor
- 220v MIG welder
- engine hoist / engine stand
- power washer
- all my tools / paint guns / decoys / bikes / hunting stuff / etc.

Future plans:
- run 220v to the building, wire the whole damn thing
- run CAT-6 ether to the building for wired internet access (have a dedicated shop laptop)
- build a nice, long workbench like I have in my garage now
- cabinets to store tools, etc.
- Shop will be used for storage and projects.
- I plan to restore my K-20 at some point in time.
- I've thought about adding a window on the north side to maybe get some airflow through there. Doors face South-west.
- Plan on putting down some rock in front of building and making a pseudo road to front of property (building my own little rock road...does that make sense...)

Suggestions for things to do / not do in a building this size?

Sportsman brake problem

Over the weekend I smelled the brakes burning on my quad at the beginning of our ride but me and my friend couldn’t figure out what quad it was coming from so we just let it go and then it went away. A few hours later my rear brake line blew while the quad was parked and not even running. Rode the rest of the day with only the front brakes with no problems. Could there be some other underlying problem that caused there to be too much pressure or is just a bad line? I just don’t want to replace the insanely expensive line just to have it blow again because there’s something else wrong. Quad is a 2016 sportsman 850
