Out riding this weekend and my wife was on her 2015 Sportsman 570 EPS. We had hit some pretty aggressive trails and were on the main road back to camp. Just cruising in low. She said the throttle started acting weird and unresponsive, then killed.
It was a little warm, but no codes. Opened the gas lid and quite a bit of pressure came out. Towed back to camp.
The gas was a bit old (8-9 months). Drained all the gas by pulling the fuel line and turning key (priming). Added new gas. It fired right up but was sluggish and kept missing as I was trying to run it. Pulled spark plug (NGK MR7F) and cleaned it up. It started running a little bit better, but still not 100%.
I'm about to go search town for a new NGK plug but I'm also aware of the fuel pump issue. I hope it's not that. Has anyone had just a fouled plug or bad gas do this? Or is it 99% of the time a bad fuel pump?
Thanks!
